I know its not the build you are going for, but the chrome rims would put the width about right for a railroad service truck. As all of their single rear wheel trucks have the tires tucked way in so they work on the rails. And as popular as the square body Chevy is, I am surprised no one makes a good off the shelf body. Mod19 did a really good job on this truck. Looking forward to seeing how you finish this out.

A K44 front and Bowhouse/GCM racing 14 Bolt rear would be exactly scaled for a 3/4 ton version. ;) Many of the CUCVs were 3/4 tons. Gm used Dana 44 fronts until 79/80. I can't wait to see it finished!

Matt When you get a moment look up up the Quagmyr Chevy pickup. This would be a project (if you chose to except it) I'd love to see you tackle. It would encompass everything you want to do. Hardbody, custom tube work and originality. I say that because I bet no one in RC has done it. And if they have its certainly not to the level of scale/realism you can accomplish. You built a steam powered Jeep, you could do this. Again, just a thought and would appreciate your input. I'm looking forward to this series and many thanks for all the efforts. Cheers!!!

Awesome! This is the sorta thing that initially attracted me to SBG and your youtube channel. It's about building to Scale!! A couple suggestions: sand away those projections along the top front side of each front fender and pad (build up) the bottom of the grille so it mounts vertical. I did those and other mods on my Blazer and I think it's worth the effort. Looking forward to this series!!

One of the things that has always bothered me about converting the RC4WD Blazer to a pickup is the fact that the back of the cab isn't correct. The Blazer has a vertical back face with a hard edge at the roof. The pickup's cab has a slight angle (lean towards front) and a radiused edge at the roof. I am actually in the process of creating a new printable back cab section that will properly convert the Blazer to a single cab pickup. I will then see what I can do to fix the abhorrent angle on the leading edge of the front fenders and grille. Not sure why it was designed like that initially, but man it makes my eyes bleed looking at it. :) Look forward to seeing what you do with this Matt. If I can get off my you-know-what and get the design finished up, I might shoot the file(s) your way for the cab back.

Similar to what you have on RF, the Dick Cepek Radial FC II. The sidewalls are a little on the shiny side but I'm sure you'd know what to do about that. I had a set on my TF2LWB LC70. So friggen scale. Almost too scale for the LC70, really. Could be perfect for something like this. However, the little biscuits on the left side are showroom stock for sure. Why do proper width axles not exist? WHY? I like where this is going. Lexan on! Lexon? 🤣🤣

@petejones68272 жыл бұрын
@@scalebuildersguild looks like the fms model was upscaled then printed off is what i was saying. i say this becuase it looks like they made cuts in the same spots as the fms model, to be fair its how i would of done it too. no ones taking the time to actually do it themselves when you can get a file and just change scale and or add take away from the model. people do the same stuff for modding snowrunner and games like that, get already done models and boom just tweak it how you want
