There was a plan for a reconstruction of the train line between both capitals but it didn’t worked out and then they funded the Belgrade Budapest high speed rail line after. I would like to see it done soon
@goransukovic87034 ай бұрын
It's bit ridiculous to , practically, have speed train Belgrade - Budapest which connects two cities in 2h10' and haven't similar to Zagreb. Speed of 160 for this line is not good enough. But, seems that priority is with newly started high speed line to Niš and Skopje , than recostructing scenic line Beograd - Bar. I suppose that Serbia could do it's part to Šid/Vinkovci relatively easy, since it's just around 100 km through flat fields. Zagreb has a bigger challenge in that endeavour.

Geopolitika.

Serbian rail cars do not havw air conditioning (not multiple unit, but old style rail cars). Croatian railways argue that they will not sell tickets if there are no air-conditioned rail cars in train. Meanwhile, in Belgrade-Bar line, you can have airconditioned car, non-airconditioned sleeper or even a car from Tito blue train.

Agreed. I travelled to Croatia 2 years ago, and found the Croatian railways to be in much better condition than the Hungarian Railways.

Hopefully we will soon have a new, completely rebuilt and modern HIGH speed railway and new high speed trains that goes from ZG-BG directly. (KISS200 maybe?) Meaning something similar with the current ongoing project between BG-BUD and the new 200+kmh trains that will go there. There are no two more similar nations in Europe then the Serbs and Croats in terms of culture, mentality and language... historically quite different in the way of thinking and what we did but other then that... basically the same. (same goes for people from Bosnia&Herzegovina)

@oijgg3p4 ай бұрын
@@ventilatorbgd Large population of Serbs lives in Slovenia and Austria. You should think of a bigger picture. Also, a lot of Croats (and tourists in Croatia) would hop on a train for a day visit to Belgrade. Plus we Serbs would want to visit Zagreb as well. So, generally speaking, this is a win-win for everybody.

But why croatia first of all, do you have some connections? And what vocation you work in? If you work in deficite vocation, you may get a visa, if not, then not very likely, a work visa that is ofc.

No, it's 100% political, it's all about vucic, he has pure hate for croatia and croats in his heart, and what hurts him the most is serbs visiting, working and especially vacating in croatia, he publicly denounced it several times on tv, he isn't keen on car traffic either, but can't do a thing about it, but he'd rather if serbs migrated thru hungary only. It's visible, as e.g. their national tv car show that regularly does car routes to the sea coast never came to croatia, they did all the routes to montenegro, albania, greece, bulgaria thru the years and did croatia forst time last summer, two routes if i'm not mistaken. But he isn't keen on train to montenegro either, it's their main import port, yet they only have seasonal passenger train in the summer, vucic is so weird, always has some chip on his shoulder, a radical since his youth, did pretty bad record for his own country, reverted it back to the 90s mafia excuse for a country unfortunatelly.
@peraperic99364 ай бұрын
Yes, it is 100% political decision but the side to be blamed is Croatian side. Few years back Serbian Railway Company proposed to Croatian railways to join the joint project of the Belgrade-Zagreb high-speed railway. The representatives of the Croatian railways refused them with the explanation that they are not interested to invest in the railway infrastructure in the direction to Serbia or Belgrade. After that, Serbian Railways proposed the same project to the Hungarians and the Hungarians accepted it. The Chinese got also involved in the project, as part of the Belt and Road initiative, with the idea of connecting the port of Piraeus (Athens) with Europe via Budapest and Vienna with a high-speed railway. This Croatian decision, which has no rational explanation other than nationalism and hatred, resulted in turning Slavonia into an appendix (dead end street) The seaport through which the most goods are imported to Serbia is not port of Bar in Montenegro, but Rijeka in Croatia, and when the high-speed railway from Piraeus is completed, Piraeus will most likely become the main port for Serbian import/export. Vucic does not determine which travelogues will be made by the privately owned company SAT, but that rather determines the number of passengers to a specific destination, which is important for the viewership of the travelogue itself. Serbs travel to Croatia as tourists, but that number is still low compared to Greece, Montenegro and, in recent years, Albania, which has become increasingly popular. The reason is the negative travel experiences that people had, because of license plates or language they spoke.

Serbs are not welcome in Croatia. On the other hands, Croats visit Serbia with no any problems. We see a lot of passengers cars with Croatian plates in Serbia. Opposite is not the case (except transit).
