I bought a lot of this ammo back when it was imported because it was cheap. I haven't had keyholing issues in any of my guns with it but then again i shoot steel and don't put it on paper. Its perfectly accurate for plinking out to 100-200 yards. Seems to me about 1 out of every 50 rounds or so wont chamber, but the interesting thing is they don't chamber in any of my YUGOs, but those rounds chamber and fire just fine in my German and Turkish guns. My biggest complaint about it is that it is incredibly dirty ammo to shoot. I would say worse than any surplus I've shot. 50-100 rounds of it and you're spending hours scrubbing the bore to get the filth out. Like you said, treat this ammo like its corrosive.

I bought a box of this a few years ago and I'm glad that I only bought one box, it was horrible. Out of that box only one round chambered, but at least it fired. I tried it out in both of my kar98ks and a m43, I thought that I had headspace issues but it was the ammo after all. I kept the rest of the rounds as a curiosity though. Mine came in a green box. Overall an excellent and informative video. 😎👍

I’m glad I didn’t fire these without thinking about it, would have rusted my rifle and would be very sad. Going to be backup ammo from now on.

I got 200 of these, couldn't chamber a single round. Ended up pulling the bullets and running the primed cases through a full length sizing die and reseating the bullets. Comparing the round next to an in spec round shows that the shoulder is much farther forward than it's supposed to be

Did you just remove the depriming stem?
@8mmmauserman7 ай бұрын
Surprisingly these were mostly indistinguishable from normal rounds.

@@8mmmauserman I can tell the difference with mine. The problematic cases/rounds will stick out of the case/oal gauges. Some rounds even have a shoulder that is higher on one side than the other. Mine came in the green box.

You are the best!!!! I've looked everywhere for information on this stuff and here you are with a wealth of knowledge! My yugo is hit or miss with this stuff... However not corrosive in my experience! Just wish they made more steel case decent and cheap 8mm

Glad to help. I've got a whole series on 8mm Mauser ammo. I also wish they made more cheap stuff, like 54r used to be.

Could you put the calipers on the thickly lacquered cases and then measure un lacquered cases and see if it’s really enough bigger to not allow the 5th round in?

Very impressed with that powder not bad for military ammo that powder in them must be close and consistent to .3 grain

Had a yugo m48 thay loved that stuff

Could you measure the diameter of the case with some calipers (when you have them) and compare with other milsurp 8mm?

I'll see what I can do.

If you have a nice K98k or value your eye sight that bargain ammo isn't always a good value.

I trust this action to handle sloppy ammo.

As a general rule, guns & ammo out of Romania are of low quality. They make everything as cheaply as possible with zero quality control. But I do miss their 7.62X39 ammo. It wasn't too bad.
@WangMingGe7 ай бұрын
Seems pretty low quality to me, especially compared to some other modern ammo like S & B.
@8mmmauserman7 ай бұрын
Very low quality, but was also dirt cheap.

Romanian ammo really fell off around the 2010s, their new production 7.62x39 has had lots off issues as well.
