Kevin Gonzalez made his way into the DMV on Cimarron and Flamingo for a title transfer, only to learn the process has been delayed again.
"My appointment was November 19th," explained Gonzalez. " I was supposed to have the title before February 27th and now it's a month later."
Gonzalez said the DMV is still trying to play catch up and wonders if it could be a staffing issue or something more.
"It use to be a one-day service, you come in and now you have to wait in a line," Gonzalez added.
Kevin Malone, the public information officer with the Nevada Department of Motor vehicles said it's a work in progress.

Apparently it’s a 75 year process over at DMV to get something right .

They must hire anyone with a pulse at The DMV. There’s a bunch of sarcastic employees there. Even when you’re doing something simple, the employees try to make it difficult. #TERRIBLE

There are a lot of job postings here as well, but that's all they are, because there is a stealth hiring freeze and they're quietly cutting the budget. So, all is not always everything that it seems.

I know I don't believe this story, there is got to be some key element left out, like they are only temporary workers with no state benefits (no pension, no health insurance). etc.

Maybe they should hire some people who can test stringently enough to keep idiots off the roads.
@jorges.salvio7559
@jorges.salvio7559 Жыл бұрын
Agree, but hiring stricter examiners/testers that go by the book isn't the problem... It's the drivers themselves that pass the driving test, forget all the rules of the road, lack manners and courtesy, speed and go crazy whenever they're in a hurry and drive while under the influence of drugs or are intoxicated... They're the ones that really need to be blamed and not the examiners...

Your problem isn’t that people aren’t tested your problem is they have a drinking and driving problem. Nevada is a drunkard state of the United States. The worst laws an unpractical logic.

Why are employees leaving?

I find this hard to believe, that is unless they aren't state employees. If they are only contractors then I can understand.

First of all, if they have so many vacancies they should point them out and post them. No one looking for work has time to send resume's blindly to people that they don't think/know are hiring. They likely are not posting them so they can fuss over candidates and pick the ones they know have some related experience, or are good candidates for other reasons, but that they can pay the least and offer the least benefits. That is why they don't post them, THEY have to say what they are offering and are bound to it. By expecting blind applications, the candidates have to ask for what they want and many will not know what salary/benefits etc everyone else in the office is recieving and thus no idea what a competitive wage is. If you send them a resume and are asking for too much, they can toss your application with no explanation, or tell you that they had no openings because none were posted. Or they intentionally keep vacancies to keep office etc budgets lower. They likely have candidates who are looking for work, but for some reason or other, likely salary/benefits related expectations from candidates, they toss many applications of applicants that are "uppity" and expect too much. Second. They know that Americans have no choice but to visit the DMV for numerous reasons and will have no choice but to wait in line and there is no incentive or reason for them to fill vacancies because they will get paid no matter how few/many people they deal with per shift.

that would help but its also their hiring WOke PRACTICES AND the fact , if you will remember , a lot of people were forced to quit because they did not feel that the vaccine was something they wanted in their body , AS IS THEIR RIGHT not be vaccinated. So you see , why would I want to work , if I were looking , with a government agency that dictates to me what I will and will not do with my body? And why would I apply to any business who is not hiring under fair practice rules, which means you dont hire according to race, creed , color, etc BUT ACCORDING TO MERIT!

@@desertedenblooms Woke? I have no idea when you were born (obviously after 2016) or what planet you came from, but the DMV has had longlLines and staffing shortages FOR DECADES. My dad is nearly 70 and he dealt with them as a teen. Do the f-ing math and i'll ask my 94 year old grandad too if you like. DECADES of long lines doesn't have shit to do with woke, covid, vaccines or anything else, just DECADES of poor hiring practices. As for thier getting fired, it was thier choice to refuse the vaccine. It was also the employers right to expect them to respect the health of 94 year old citizens like my grandad (my great-great aunt died at 100 in Kentucky because of one of those idiots in her care facility) as well as babies and other people who are immuno-compromized. Since ALL of the most vulnerable citizens would have to come and listen to them cough and spit all over them and touch everything just so they can deliberately turn the DMV into one covid party out of spite. They were also not forced to quit, employers cannot make people quit, (THAT is against the law) they CHOSE to do that. You can only be fired/outsourced/let go etc or retired etc according to a work contract if one exists and at DMV it does and no doubt that disregard for public safety has been in it for decades, since they have been required to be vaccinated since the 70's and 80's. The MMR vaccine requirements did that, NOT covid. They signed that employment contract, tough shit if they lost thier jobs for selfish PC reasons. Requiring people who work in public service to keep people safe and letting people who refuse to do so is not discrimination under the 14th amendment, they are listed quite clearly and vaccination has nothing to do with it or there would be a HUUUUGE class action lawsuit by now. If they cannot dictate what you can do with your body means they have no right to tell women what they can do with thiers either, no doubt you are a hypocrite about that. I seriously doubt that the DMV would hire a germ-ridden hypocrite.

The DMV is charging a high amount for registrations. Old cars are charged $600.00. This is a robbery. If they want you to register the car, then lower the price.
