8th Gen Civic Head Unit no sound - RESOLVED

I purchased this JVC KW-M740BT for my 2007 Civic Si Sedan. Followed instructions that came with the harness and the stereo powered up but no sound.

thanks bro i wired the blue wire to a random available wire on my radio but it didn’t work then i did the blue and white wire and it worked! saved me 40 bucks from those stereo installer sharks

Awesome! Thanks! Keep in mind that the adapter harness goes into the factory AMP and will work better connected to the low-level outputs(usually RCA connectors)of your stereo if it has them, If not just be careful with volume or you may blow your speakers(sound will be double amplified).

You're probably connected to the high level output of the stereo, low levels will sound better if you have them

@@calvin8243 Sorry, Probably done, but if not you will need a stereo that has low level(rca) outputs. Hack up an rca cable and connect it from the stereo rca's to the speaker wires on the aftermarket connecting harness.

I have a 2007 civic si. I’ve installed Pioneer AVH 14400 headunit and pioneer GM D9605. Ran RCAs from amp to headunit. I ran the speaker wires from amp to the harness behind the headunit. Headunit and amp turns on but no sound. Thoughts? Note: I am using an aftermarket amp.

@@baotrinhduy1244 I'm having the same hiss. I'm guessing that, because we are connecting a high level radio output to an amplifier, it's causing the hiss. Dam I was hoping this was going to work. But my harness doesn’t have that one wire. Where you have yellow green white then blue. I only have yellow green white. And the other side it’s only blue black and brown. Not the light color blue. You seem to have more wires in your harness then me.

I have 2006 Civic LX sedan with single din head unit classic Pioneer super tuner iii with dolphins race cars and such. Two 12in subwoofersin seprate sealed hatchback boxes. Wiring is 4awg power and ground for my amplifier which is cheap Kicker 500.1. My issue is this car stereo all works sounds great bass is loud but only worsk when parked when im driving amplifier doesnt work at all or try to work.. will this fix my issue above. Also have polk audio rear deck speakers and pioneer door speakers. Radio is grounded through its harness and amplifieris grounded left rear strut tower..

Had a problem right after I tightened the battery post by accident I touch the body it spark caused my aftermarket go into protection mode with the amp the only thing I did was reset the system on my pioneer double din with built in amp everything was fine and working back to normal right after i was really happy and I did not wire amp wire to any thing or taken stereo back out Hope's this works for others good luck
