Hey man, cool video... but just FYI, Power Antenna (blue) and Remote (blue white) are both just 12v outputs. If your radio harness doesn't have one or the other, it would be preferable to hook both the vehicle harnesses blue & blue white to the radios single blue wire. The only difference from what you recommend here is that the red, 12v acc, is an input to the radio. So if the fuse blew on the radio, the amp would still get power, and that is not ideal.

Just touch the blue wires together to see if you get sound with everything plugged in. On the radio harness it said power antenna/amp and the vehicle harness it said power Antenna. I had to connect those wires.

If you still have this explorer, make sure you put a 12v to 5v adapter for your amp since ford uses 5v on theor factory amps, if your speakers have started to pop on startup, this is why

I knew the problem was due to my factory amp but for some reason just hooking the factory power amp wire to a relay power cable never once crossed my mind. Either speaker grounded or factory amp failer....pull radio out get a test speaker and hook it up directly on the radio and see if you have sound....if you do then bad amp if not cut the ground on each speaker wire at the radio and see if sound comes on if it does then its a speaker ground short.

Great video and also as a reminder electrical tape can fall off and in really hot areas it'll just come right off always good to either solder or if not put caps on the wires trust me it is worth it in the long run

Actually have heard of that happening but not sure what causes it. My dad's 90 chevy silverado radio quit working and he put one out of a 93 gmc back in it. Didnt have to cut wires or anything. The new radio just snapped into the old cable socket. But it made a kind of high pitched whistle as he accelerated. Which made me think it was something wrong with the new radio itself since no new wiring was done. Just plug in and play. It was annoying but better than having no radio. Can anyone else on here help her?

I need help... I got 2005 lincoln ls ultimate and J got an universal eonon 7 inch android 10 radio with a metra 70-5521 harness which everyone uses in their instlatio vids. I spliced power cable from metra and from eonon radio, connected everything up and radio boots up, no sound ;(. And there is no blue/white wire, unless other cable metra came from but I have nowhere to connect that and Im really confused idk what to do... stupid rare car

It should not if you hooked it up the way I said. If it is hooked up to the other wire that supplies power constantly then yes and it would drain your battery

I have an 81 Bronco and the only wires I found were the ground red & yellow wires. No blue coming from the vehicle directly. Have a 1991 Jeep Cherokee Laredo with a factory Jeep 56002467(1991) AM/FM Cassette Player and swapped out the tape modules in two 2467 cases. Now I have me some rocking tunes. Now what I need to know is what is the cause of either the left or right channel going out on a 2467 and on a 56009004(1992) the volume knob is maxed out but still need just a little bit more volume.
