I agree, I always liked Torts, anywhere he coached, dude has integrity

He's my spirit animal! He's OG! That is exactly why some don't like him. He's coaching a generation of youngsters that we taught their poo doesn't stink and they are special and unique. A generation of play dates and helicopter parenting. Torts....he should have been coaching in the 70s, like Don Cherry! Talking to young men like men! I think he's and good coach and his record speaks for itself. He's turned clubs around. Hoisted Lord Stanley's cup. He knows what it takes to win in this league and that's something my most beloved Flyers, have forgotten. Play for the logo on the front of the sweater and not the name on the back! Ole tyme hockey, Eh! FERDA!!! 😉

@@billwalter9917Was that when you were playing for him...lol? Was he coaching your rivals team...lol? Are you Fonzie? Can't say wrong? 😂😂😂 As someone who played for 25+ years and had many coaches... he's the kinda coach I wanted. Know where you stand, you always have to earn your ice time. Knows how to best use your skill set and doesn't ask you to play a way you can't. Isn't afraid to make the best player on the team ride the pine if he ain't getting it done. Now of course, that's when I was an adult. Maybe wouldn't have felt that way when I was 13 yrs old. As a coach for youth hockey... Once boys hit about 13 yrs can't tell them anything. They think they know everything by then .. lol.

Absolutely love it's that time of the year again for nearly daily..."Words of inspiration and truth, from Coach torts!" Often the best part of my day! Just to hear the media interview anyone....and they actually speak the truth! Gives me hope and keeps me from totally losing faith in my country and this world! 😉

@billwalter9917Ай бұрын
I hope they give him a sincere opportunity. I do understand how things have gone sideways with other prospects in the past but if he is “doin’ it” then let the horse outta the corral!
@billcarey3694Ай бұрын
The kid looks legit. I would normally say that he is just leaving it open to help motivate him, but if he continues playing the way he has, and can do it against actual NHL players, I think you gotta at least give him a look on the big club. I think Charlie asked that question perfect (love you Charlie!), if he is one of the best 12 forwards by the end of camp and gives you the best chance to win games, I don’t think you can send him down “just” because he is young. If the kid can play with the big dogs , let em play!
@cryptanite5850Ай бұрын
Had no idea who he was prior to the draft, I wanted Zeev.. but I’m so happy we took Jett. He’s very impressive and looks like and NHL player already, can’t believe he just turned 18
@billcarey3694Ай бұрын
@@cryptanite5850 same when they called his name at the draft I was like “WHO!?” But he really has impressed me. Nothing flashy but that boy can skate! And he looks like he processes the game at a high level and quickly, which I think is the thing that cause prospects to falter when they don’t have it. He may end up not being ready physically (as he did JUST turn 18) but mentally I think he’s already there.

Class act by Torts and the Organization. This Flyers organization (plus the Oilers) should be the standard that all NHL teams should strive to become.
