I did that at my husbands funeral! Don't mean to be jealous, but wow! She did very very well with that. Her last word was just as strong as the first word! and to be with child 3! very powerful!!!! These ladies gave Heaven a blessing! Praying that John and Matthew will have sweet slumber in our Heavenly Father's arms. Praying that the Comforter is in all the homes of families, friends, and other mourners.

What an amazing woman. A true "wife and mom" who cared about the simple things. Carrying her 3rd baby and eulogising her husband. She did him proud. This is tragic and I don't know how this family goes forward. They will. I'm sorry this happened to these great people. It was completely avoidable. But that's another day. This day is for Johnny and Mattie. R. I. P. boys, I'm sure there's a really big rink in heaven to play on. I'm a hockey fan for 60 yrs. This hits us all hard, but none as much as this family. ♥️♥️

So elegantly said. You can tell what kind of man he was by how special she is. That had to be so very hard to do yet she did it with great dignity and class. I did not know who Johnny was. I have never watched a hockey game. But hearing his story and hearing about the type of man husband son father brother he was I will never forget him. RIP Johnny!

I can say with certainty that the woman that John Gaudreau married is as wonderful of a person as her description of her husband. Wow! The strength it took to stand up there and talk about losing your soul mate. There's no way i could do that without breaking down. I don't want to ever know this pain. Both of these young men sound amazing and their wives even more so! I may sound weird, but hearing Johnny's wife talking about having 3 kids in such a short time frame made me think God was giving her 3 kids to love as he was preparing to bring Johnny home! The relaionship these 2 had is one we can only dream of. And the bond between the 2 brothers is admirable and special for sure. They were both taken too soon, but its also a testament that they did everything together so it was only fit that they went home together! To the wives, prayers and condolences for the loss of your husbands. I know it was not easy standing up there talking about them knowing theyre gone! But yall also know yall will be together again one day and thats the greatest comfort. Those babies will know their fathers and how much they are so loved by them. To the family, friends and teammates, prayers and condolences. My thoughts are with every single one of yall that had the honor and priviledge of knowing and loving these 2 incredible young men gone too soon! God had bigger plans. But know that they are watching over every one of yall and are up there being goofballs as thats what brothers do ❤❤ This was such a beautiful service and eulogy and it upsets me that they were taken too soon because someone decided to be an idiot that night 😢😢 rest in Heavenly peace, both of you!

Meredith, thank you so much for such an amazing eulogy, this broke my heart. I am so sorry for your loss along with the whole Gaudreau family. I never met either brother but wish I got to meet and truly know John and Matt as they sound like they were amazing people. I knew Johnny "Hockey" was special after Calgary drafted him and watched his games with Boston College. I told people he was going to be a NHL all-star and most did not believe me due to his size. I proved them wrong! LOL What amazes me more is not his work in the rink, but his dedication to his family along with Calgary which I knew he loved. While I was sad he left Calgary, I was not mad as I knew it was a decision to be closer to his family and happy he had 2 years closer to home with you, his brother, his parents, sisters and nephews and nieces. I still can't imagine the pain you and the family feel. My deepest condolences for your loss, however he will be lived by his 3 amazing children which I know you will show what amazing brothers they were and continue the Gaudreau legacy in which ever way that is. God Bless.

When my own father passed, my Mom was left with the four of us, all under the age of five. We didn’t have it all growing up, but we had a strong mother who was and still is amazing. I was only 18 months old, so I have no recollection of my Dad, but incidents such as these give me an indication to what that may have been like. My condolences and all the best to those families. 😢
