9 ANNOYING THINGS ABOUT THE LEXUS GS (2013)!

As a GS owner it's always interesting to hear other owners experiences and opinions. I don't know if the radar cruise control is different depending on other options like Pre Collision System or Lane Keep Assist? However the radar cruise control in My GS 450h works very well in stop and go traffic. The only "downside" is that you actively need to press the gas pedal or move the cruise control stalk when the vehicle in front starts to move forward from a complete stop. You get information in the display when it's time to engage to start moving forward. It is still very convenient to only have to touch the cruise control stalk in stop and go traffic. My previous car did automatically start to going forward, but the time delay was too long in my opinion so I manually engaged the gas pedal/cruise control stalk to going forward in most cases anyway. My advice is to Activate the cruise control when you are completely stationary and there is a vehicle in front of you. The information in the display should say something about "waiting" and when the vehicle in front starts moving forward you get "engage instructions" to start moving your car forward. The speed will be set to the lowest (47 km/h/29 mph in my car) but that's no problem, your car will follow the vehicle in front in a very safe way no matter how slow the speed is!

Great video!! 😁I have a 2014 GS and for odd reasons I love the day time running lights it’s kinda like retro led compared to nowadays day running lights. Reminds me of diamonds shimmering in my perspective

Love your content man. I know you don't get many views but I appreciate you! I'm weirdly obsessed by my 2013 GS so always nice to see content specific to it. I don't really care about any of this stuff except the sunglass holder which is legitimately ridiculous. If I could add one thing, it would be that if you have the non-automatic trunk (which is fine with me I can manage to open my own trunk LOL), you really have to slam the damn thing for it to latch. In the end it's all small potatoes and the car really is an underappreciated gem. Must say I prefer the original grill design as it came on the 2013-2015 F Sports over yours, but yours definitely makes it stand out from the rest! Was yours the non-F Sport with the fog lights?

Thanks for your comment and support. Yeah it's not easy getting views, so any support is appreciated! The GS is not very common, so as you say it's nice seeing specific content about the GS! That's really annoying about having to slam it! I've had 3 GS' all with powered trunks so I haven't noticed how much of a slam is required to shut it! And you're right about this stuff being potatoes, which is why I chose to name it 'annoying' instead of 'things I hate'. There's absolutely more to love and it is incredibly underrated. My full review sort of spells that out. And I have a 5 comfort creatures sort of video being released shortly as well. The original F SPORT grille design is quite tidy, I agree! It's just cheaper here to buy the aftermarket GS F style than to get the OEM F SPORT. Correct - mine was a Luxury model with the standard bumper and fog lights. Thanks for the support again!

I have a 2013 GS with 156,000 miles. I thought the memory seat setting was broken. I didn't know it has to be in park for it to work

Just adding a point regarding the powered trunk. A lot of other powered trunks are much faster, and the problem with this one is that many of my friends didn't even realised it was fully powered and they end up yanking it, or, just standing there in the pouring rain waiting for it to open. I'm personally not too fussed about the slowness, but it's those areas where it becomes more of a con than a pro

You GS front bumber is not original, that's a GSF bumger. I have a 2015 GS 350 F sport and a 2018 GS 350 F sport, and I agree with all of your annoying items, especially the sunglasses holder lol Enjoy your car, these are great cars.

Haha well the thing is, it's supposed to be a list of annoying complaints, that's kind of the point of these videos. I'm not saying the car is trash, it's just a video focused on the annoying things. It's not an overall review. And these are reasonable complaints because they're compared with other Lexus models, and industry competitors, it's not like I'm complaining that it doesn't have a V12 or 3-row seating or something. I have another video about 5 positive things which is being released later this week.

Isn’t it dangerous to select memory seat in drive mode? What if someone(spouse/family members) set the memory all the way back and you are in drive mode, how do you reach the brake pedal? For me, I prefer on the park mode just to be on the safe side.

That's why I specifically mentioned how other manufacturers tackle this - i.e. by holding down the button rather than just pressing it once. I would be very impressed if someone else in the car managed to climb over and press AND HOLD the memory seat buttons next to me. It's all about compromise and I'd much rather hold the button down for longer than not being able to do it whilst driving.
