For souvenirs: FAMILY TIP. Fill a small carry-on suitcase with all the snacks and Ziplock bags you’ll want to have in WDW. By the end of the trip, that snack bag will be empty and you can fill it with souvenirs! Works great for our family of 5!

Here’s your Disney MUST! List - sunscreen (no one wants cancer or wrinkles) - a change of socks (trust me it will definitely rain or something will happen to your socks) - poncho (again the rain) - portable charger (you might think you’re not on your phone much but trust me you are) - handheld fan (amazon has cheap ones that are lightweight) - light sweater/ windbreaker (only if you get cold easily or plan on getting wet) - reusable water bottle (stay hydrated I have witnessed so many people passing out over heat/ dehydration) - SNACKS (to fight the hangry monsters) - cooling towel (super cheap on amazon) - pain medicine/ first aid kit (someone will definitely need it) - tampons/ pads (if needed or will be needed soon) Also remember not to take anything your family says personal especially when they are hangry 😁 just ignore them. Have fun!

@@Mariah111981 This really bums me out because some of the best memories I had in WDW (and even Wildwood NJ) were with my grandma and other great aunt. They were adventurous souls though and kinda knew they were a semi aupair. HOWEVER. THEY LOVED IT AND WE LOVED THEM. In a couple years maybe ask your kids if they had good memories with them there, a favorite laugh or time. Anything. Maybe them just being there with your kids was worth it's weight in gold. Hell, if anything you can bond with your kid years from now about in-laws. It will work it's way out.

Motion sickness tip . Sea sickness patches they're small fit behind the ear they last 4 days they come in packs of 3 . My wife gets motion sickness easy but with these patches she can ride anything even mission space orange. Last time we went to Disney World for 10 days she wore the patch all 10 days and never felt sick. You have to get them from a Doctor prescription but its worth it . Please share.

Another option to stave off motion sickness is ginger pills or chews! My husband gets motion sick pretty easily (even the Parks busses can trigger it). We tried Dramamine, but he was pretty drowsy that whole trip. I was surprised to find that ginger is a proven natural nausea remedy, and now we never go to WDW without it!

Wearing one (just one) of those soft foam or wax earplugs can help, too. Also, never hide: if you're on a boat, move to the bow, look at the horizon, and tell them to go faster. Motion sickness is caused by a mismatch between you're body and your eyes; one thinks your moving and the other doesn't. The earplug thing works by giving your brain a different mismatch to work on. It's great for migraines, too.

Don’t ride big, fast ride without eating and drinking anything either (eat at least an hour before, not just right before)! I know a lot of people’s bodies haven’t jump started without any sustenance and going on those rides make them queazy when they normally don’t affect them 👍🏻

When kids are old enough we like to get each a Disney gift card or a Visa gift card (since these can be used more places) and that's what they get to spend. We have also picked up one treat card and a different design souvenir card. They love the freedom and you have set a limit right from the start. Bonus if the trip is being planned far enough in advance we will ask for and give gift cards for gifts!

When I was a kid and we went to Disney my parents told me in advance that I could pick one stuffed toy and one other souvenir to bring home with me, and that was it. It was a good method because I could still browse in the stores and look at all the items to pick out that perfect item or stuffed toy that I wanted to bring home, but I knew my limitations so I wasn't asking for things constantly. To be fair the collectables market has expanded significantly from what it was in the 80's so I am sure the temptations are more difficult to resist at times.

@fndourvoices8416
@fndourvoices8416 4 жыл бұрын
We didnt have any problems. We went in a group of 13. And got a couple of i think they were $20 walkie talkies from Walmart so we could split up in the park and do what we wanted to do. So we all got to enjoy time with our own families or groups we wanted to go do different things. It's a great help. As mentioned using your phone costs so much. It's also good if your staying in apartments like we do. We stayed in Kissimmee at celebration suites (highly recommend) right next to old town. And we were able to use them there also. As we were not all next to each other.

@@simplesimply3753 Calling Disney is probably the best way to get answers. They are dead helpful. But if you really want a video, that would be more up Theme Park Express's alley than AJ's. He does plus size accessibility videos and lives in Florida. He might actually be very interested in the slightly different topic as an excuse to hit Disney, almost all of their rides are size inclusive.
@mmmirei
@mmmirei 3 жыл бұрын
My brother is able to get the disability pass, so I do have experience with it. I don’t fully understand it, but I’m pretty sure that you go and talk to guest relations, and they “give” you a pass (not sure if they actually give you something to prove it or not) and then it kind of works like a fast pass, but it also doesn’t. This will be kind of hard for me to explain, so bear with me. I think if you go to the cast member at the entrance to a line and tell them you have the disability access thing, they will (might) tell you to go check in with them when you come back. Then, I believe, you can go off to do other stuff for however long the standby line is, and once that time is up, you can take a shortened line to the ride. So, your technically still waiting, but you can go and ride other rides at the same time. Hope that helps and I didn’t get something horribly wrong. It’s been almost a year since I last went to Disney, and my brother doesn’t really like a lot of the rides the rest of us like, so we don’t get to use the pass a whole lot lol

Even if you usually have a big enough appetite for multiple sit-down restaurants at home, I still would recommend one table-service reservation a day at most if you're not a WDW veteran. The stress and excitement of being in the parks can manifest itself in a lot of ways, and that can include a massive loss of appetite, as I learned first-hand. SO much waisted food.

My family has been to Disney world 12 times and I am 10 so here is a quick tip if you have a toddler or a young person with you, If you get a stroller make sure you get a ballon, when you park your stroller at a ride or wherever you are leaving it, tie your ballon to your stroller so it will be easier to find (because the cast members do move the strollers around)

Speaking of drinks before rides... I went to DLR with my brother, niece, his then-fiancée (now ex), and her two girls. Bro had drank several beers all day and then had a cocktail with dinner. We then got on the teacups and piled into one cup, and he was teasing the girls about “don’t go too fast or you’ll get sick!” So the ride starts and we get it spinning as fast as we can... and he’s the one that goes green. XD

Oh my gosh I just laughed when I heard the "It'll be so much fun to spend a week with my In-Laws"! I thought wow it will be awesome to spend a whole week with my brother and his family - what could possibly go wrong in the happiest place on earth?! Well spend a week with people that you normally do not have that much constant, non-stop interaction with and see what happens. Looking back I understand now how important "alone" time is. LOL

From an early age the only souvenirs we would get are pins. This kept them small, relatively cheap, and we could justify getting them something at each place we went. Now they have a massive pin collection that is filled with memories.

Best souvenir advice... Take pictures of the items you can't live without, the sales tags and the stores they were in. When you get home, go through the "gift catalog" of pics and go online to see if they are at the Disney store online, or call the park with the information and request to buy and have shipped the ones you really are sorry you didn't buy. Less stuff in your luggage on the way home, and you have the luxury of choosing what you really want.

As a 40 year glasses wearing coaster rider, losing them need not be a problem. Get a strap, or several. Plenty out there - just search "sports glasses strap sunglasses" or similar on amazon or other shops. (Note, this is NOT the type that you hang your glasses on round your neck when not in use - these provide a fit akin to a facemask, though they don't need to be so tight.) With the right ones they will stay on your face on rides way more intense than anything Disney has - like if you take a day out to Busch Gardens or SeaWorld and ride everything :-)

Raincoat with armpit zippers and vents. This way you can wear your raincoat and not overheat. I have a Columbia raincoat with armpit zips for winter hiking New England White Mountains. Chums, Croakies, or neck strap eyeglass cord to keep your sunglasses on your head. Typically used while boating but can be useful for amusement park rides.

I remember when I went to Disney World for the first time when I was 7 back in 2007 I was terrified to go on the rock n rollercoaster. Before the ride I was crying like crazy because I didn’t wanna go on it. But once the ride was over I realized I LOVED it and wanted to go on it again and again. Food for thought for those people who won’t take a kid on a ride because they don’t want to or are scared. Never know might just turn into a core memory like it did for me :)

Best decision we made over several trips-- get out of the park for a bit. We have found it so much easier to leave a park at around 11 and go to one of the hotels to do lunch. A) its way less crowded. B) it gives you some down time instead of slogging through the midday sun. Doesn't work for everyone, but really the time you are out of the park equals about 1 ride during the noon hour because of the lines.

But he gets motion sick especially in the dark. _At universal, we almost called an ambulance after revenge of the mummy_ and when we got off space mountain, we saw the pictures and you could tell he was not having fun. while everyone around him was flailing their arms around, screaming, he was sitting there, pale face, even his ussally up and happy looking hair was down and sad looking. When he got off, he told us that he was trying to hold in his barf. *He was sitting behind the principal, his boss, yes he works at the school, and he amost barfed on his boss, and his sons principal*
