I don't think it's necesserly postive, but more like benefit from any situation you're in. Even if you are in prison or sick, and we see many people do. As it is a key factor if you want to dream big

I am the opposite of the "push through and prove myself" person. When others criticize and put me down, I see it as confirmation of my own unworthiness, and why bother if I'm just going to fail? Adults never got this about me as a child. They would try and do that reverse psychology on me, like, "I bet you can't do this task!!!" and I would be like ...okay. And walk away. And they'd be like, aren't you going to prove to me that you can do it?! And I was like ...why? You already told me you think I'm stupid/incapable/unworthy/etc. I believed people when they told me things. Even if I thought it was out of left field and that they were being mean for no reason, I thought why do I want to prove myself to this mean person? Nobody ever got that the way to encourage me to do things was to ...encourage me. Not put me down.

All the points you listed are so true. I definitely have always made space for other people and made them feel seen because I listened to them. It's just that not valuing myself and prioritizing other people and their opinions all the time was a very painful way to live. It made other people feel like they didnt need to reciprocate because i was always available for them, so i rarely received what i gave. I much prefer having high self-esteem and valuing others at the same time.

It is always a matter of balance. Too much of anything and the balance gets distorted. Stay in the middle of it all, being a good listener to others AND to yourself. Prioritizing others AND yourself. With the picture in your mind; always put the oxygen mask on to yourself first before helping the others. Like they say in the airoplane safety instructions ❤

4:06 I'm actually not disciplined at all. Because of low self-esteem, I'm more perfectionist and I struggle allowing myself to make mistakes while learning, so I end up not doing anything. It's ruining me, there's nothing good about low self-esteem

I wish my version of low self esteem resulted in being disciplined (my low self esteem results in fear of failure as an artist, and an avoidance of my art/music practice, amongst an avoidance of many things unrelated to creativity) All other points applied to me! Thanks so much for creating i video with a perspective on low self esteem I hadn’t seen before🙏🏾!

I don´t think that is low self esteem, you are describing a very healthy esteem. I have met people with low self steem and they become narcissit mostly. Thank you for the video thou, as always so sweet

From my experiences, people with low self esteem often inflate their egos to compensate for or to hide their insecurities. They can be quite the opposite of what is described in this video.

Yeah, I was just going to say that! This sounds like a very healthy esteem where you don't feel like you have to pump out ur chest, make a big deal of yourself etc. Everyone that I know that has low self-esteem is extremely toxic, narcissistic, makes themselves the victim, etc.

💯💯..agreed..she is describing high self esteem, high self awarenes, flexibility and receptive..it has nothing to do with low self esteem..discipline and persistence too has nothing to do with self esteem..you can be confident and hardworking..and you can also have low self esteem with no discipline..confident people are more flexible and receptive to others opinion..and people with inferiority complex get triggered and defensive towards other people's opinion..

That's a very interesting perspective! I too grew up with low self-esteem, and still have remnants of it within me, and also after my spiritual awakening and learning I was an empath, I wonder which of the benefits you listed were due to being an empath and which came from low self-esteem....Hmmm...I guess for me, the two go hand in hand. I had to experience low self esteem in order to experience the process of learning self-love and compassion. My traits of being a good listener, good friend, team player, hard worker changed where it stemmed from, instead of coming from a place of people pleasing, it came from a place of self-empowered choice to contribute to a greater goal through positive connections/interactions. I hadn't realized this until just now after watching your video and reflecting on how it applied to me. Thank you so much Rei, your videos are so wonderful in helping me become more reflective of myself!

I love how you're also describing self-esteem as adaptive. The example of losing a job - when that happens, it's helpful to be more open to new ideas and possibilities, working on yourself and working hard at finding a new job opportunity... and clinging to "I am right, I deserve better" is probably not so useful. So perhaps, as long as our self-esteem is not "stuck" but is "healed" enough to be able to go up or down... we do get a helpful higher or lower dose depending on what's needed under the circumstances. 🤔

Thank you for another useful video about seeing common issue from different angle. Signs you've mentioned exactly what i used to have. The best timing to analyze my self'esteem improvement journey. Yesterday i took a psychological test about the level of one's self-esteem and I am happy that my level of self-esteem is really risen to the point where I can love myself strong enough without external validation and have capacity to set boundaries. How I know the improvement of my level is that I took the exact test about a year ago and screenshoted the result and yesterday I compared my new result to the old one saw the real improvement. To reach this level I really worked on myself, read some books, had self-discipline, self-care, did regular fitness exercises, eat healthy etc. It was not easy journey but now looking back and seeing the real improvement in me I'm really proud of myself. And your videos helped me in this journey becuz they popped up exactly when i was confused about my current condition to give me answers and clear my vision. Grateful for everything. Good luck to you

I love your channel, Rei! Thanks for the great video. I find that for me, I've always had low self-esteem until recently. I agree with pretty much all of the benefits you mentioned in your video, although I see them more as characteristics of someone with low self-esteem than as benefits. Generally people with low self-esteem tend to be very kind, lovely people, which is how I always felt. But today I am much more aware of just how much I am capable and that sometimes it does make sense for me to stand up for myself for others to listen to me, because I learn a lot but I also have a lot to teach. :) Thank you so much for the video!

I agree with all of these points. Thank you so much for this video. I sometimes wish to become more confident but I cannot deny how much never putting myself on a pedestal has helped me get new ideas, change my mind, meet new people, and improve,... I guess there are advantages and disadvantages everywhere, but I'm glad I watched your video! :)

Nice video 👍🏻 Also, a person with low self esteem is more likely to have a simpler and less complex mind which is a quality needed to excel in one’s journey whereas a person with an inflated self esteem or ego is more likely to have a complex mind which is a hindrance to their awakening in my humble opinion Overall, we all need to trim the branches and complications of the mind down to a minimum and become as simple minded as possible to better understand the universe and creation🎉

Self-esteem is not about how people or circumstances have treated you. Self-esteem is the honor we accord ourselves. This means low-self esteem is a function of not committing and recognizing your own honorable acts.

Kind traits, but is it valid if we discard people for their stupidity or immoral behaviour or should we still try to teach someone or compromise for someone who had disappointed us so many times because of their immaturity
