I use Osprey Kamber with ICUs, finally found the set-up I've been looking for! My Clik Elite backpacks are now just resting in my closet. The Kamber is a backcountry snowsport pack, and does not look like a camera bag for security.

Great video guys! 🙏🏽 Just a tip ... the Peak Design backpack has a hip belt which is hidden at the bottom inside the side pockets. The belt passes through the hole which is on the bottom of the side pockets which can pass through to secure around the waist. Also, the zippers can loop round several loop holes to give some security protection but its not the best. 😁

This was super helpful! I'm looking for my first backpack at the moment and upgrading my camera gear as well so what I've been using to keep my gear safe won't cut it anymore. I didn't even think of buying an all in one bag rather than a separate camera bag and backpack! Thanks a lot you guys are great! 😊

I think the Lowepro Hatchbag is also very good for travel, especially with a mirrorless system. It fits a Sony a7 series camera with a 16-35gm and three other prime lenses. The ICU is also detachable, and you can only open from the back which can prevent fro’ theft. It’s super lightweight, and you still can fit many daily essentials in the upper storage space.

Please share which airline lets you take a 70L pack as carry on??? The Sukha is not carry on compatible. The Tilopa is 49L and it's touted as carry on compatible but even with this, I've been asked a few times to check it (so I take the ICU out and with me). If you want guaranteed carry on compliant, go with the Anja @ 40L

The f-stop small pro ICU! I have an Osprey backpack that I love and having a more portable camera bag insert seems like it would be the best fit for me. I'm not super familiar with f-stop, but y'all did a wonderful job discussing the pros and cons of their bags- I'll definitely be checking them out. On another note, would y'all consider dedicating a video to camera lenses in the future? I have a Sony Alpha a6000 that I've used primarily for photography, but I want to expand into video and I'm unsure where to start. Thanks and all the best!

Nice list, guys! There are quite a few that I hadn’t heard of 🙂 My favorite bags are (ranging from large to small): • Large: Lowepro ProTactic 450 and Kelty Redwing 50L (with a camera cube) • Medium: Recycled Firefighter 12 Hour Bag (with small camera cube) and Vanguard Alta Rise 45 • Smallish: ThinkTank Turnstyle 10, Vanguard Discover 38 and I’m currently testing the Signature 10 from ThinkTank...I have high hopes for it 👍🏻 PS: I have the Mountain Pack from Topo Designs and it’s really well made + very functional. But the shoulder straps do cause quite a bit of strain, even with minimal weight. The hip belt doesn’t offer much relief either.

Very loud applause - this was my weekend homework, find this video / bag (going with the Sukha). Thank you guys! I'm going to be out of a job at the end of May and after years of dreaming and watching others travel the world, I'm taking a me year. Undergrad, grad school, 60 hour work weeks were how I spent my 20s and into my 30s. I decided I wasn't going to look for a new job right away - I'm tossing my stuff in storage and spending the summer from Norway to Greece. I was going to do it on a motorcycle, but was a bummer when I found out that we only get 90 days - rentals were too expensive, so I was going to buy - but the amount of time I'd get made the depreciation too great. So planes and trains are the name of the game. Back to the states for holidays and the new year, then planning on rounding out my year doing Australia / NZ / SE Asia. My biggest fear is that I'll never return to the great paying jobs that I've worked since grad school, because I'll fall so madly in love with traveling the world. Maybe our paths will cross sometime in the next year. Your videos, along with some other channels played a large role in my deciding to take time for me rather than jumping right back into another job.

I used a Lowepro Rover AW over 10yrs ago and, despite the fact that it did its job, I didn't really like it. The Lowepro Primus Minimus though (discontinued now) is a brilliant bag if you're using one body and have 2-3 other lenses plus usual accessories. Has plenty of room for a jumper, water, travel docs, etc and the zippers/openings are mostly protected or back facing. It has a side opening compartment for quick access. I've done 2 international trips with this bag and countless domestic ones and it's a great design for having access to all my travel needs at my finger tips. These days, I've gone mirrorless and have transitioned to camera bags that snuggly fit my camera with lens attached so I can put it in any day pack and also have it over my shoulder. It's light enough to not be a burden and small enough to easily put away when I'm not shooting. The Lowepro Munich 100 and Format 120 are good, cheap cases for such a set up. This is what I like when using my 75L travel backpack with 25L day pack.

Thank you for the review guys, really interesting! May I suggest an entry to this list ? The Mindshift 180 Horizon in my opinion kills them all! Being a travel addict, I've been looking for a bagpack big and convenient enough to store all my gear, but most of all access it easily and oh boy is it easy and convenient to access my gear with this bag. At this point I have to highlight that I am not sponsored in any way haha. The bag is comfortable and big enough (took it for a 5days trek in the himalayas) but still cabin size, and all your gear can be accessed and manipulated while walking without removing the bag from your back!! (you should watch a video of how it works as the system is hard to describe). There are different sizes, but my version (horizon) fits my Sony A6000 with 16-70 lens on, my 70-200 (detached from the body), plus 3 other lenses and one extra battery. Yes, all this fits in the belt compartment, hence I have plenty of room left for my other stuff in the top compartment. The bag is pricey, but I've used it so much and taken it to so many places that it's definitely worth every buck in my opinion. Please tell me what you think of it :) You can also have a look at my insta should you be interested: "_theo.photo_"

Hey guys! I have a recommendation. The bag I'm recommending is the Kattee professional DSLR bag found here: www.amazon.com/dp/B01LC1GN7Y/ref=twister_B07C3L764D It's super cheap but it's good for people who don't do photography professionally but still want a camera backpack. Because it's cheap, it has a few downsides like no hip straps, it's pretty small, it's not accessible from the back it's not waterproof, etc. However, it fits a 15" laptop, has a waterproof rain cover, tripod straps, etc. This would be more for reeeeally small trips but I thought it was worth mentioning. There's also a similar one by Beaspire that's also cheap which can be found here: www.amazon.com/Professional-Waterproof-Multifunctional-Resistant-Accessories/dp/B01JOVOJM0/ref=sr_1_17?s=photo&ie=UTF8&qid=1523728874&sr=1-17&keywords=camera+backpack I don't have this bag so I can't vouch for it though. Anyway, I love your videos and have been waiting for one like this! Happy travels!
