In this video I am sharing with you 9 eco-friendly sewing projects, some of which I already use, some will be new to me and some are still on my to do list! I hope you enjoy and gain some information, all mentioned resources below:
HOW TO become a MEMBER of this channel to get access to Extra Videos, library of Instruction Sheets and other perks- PLEASE READ FIRST TILL THE END. Thank you!
Membership trailer here (what are the full perks, where to find them, Apple users - please watch till the end) - • Membership trailer 2022
• PLEASE NOTE: these are not patterns for clothes and garments included in the Membership
• Instruction sheets are a step-by-step written instruction on how I drafted this or that project, so that you can follow along. Instruction Sheets are available as a back catalogue, but there are no new Instruction sheets for projects starting with July 2022.
• The templates are ONLY for the small projects, like a basket, or coaster, or towel wrap and etc.
• I have also created sewing reference sheets and practice sheets, as well as sketches that you can use and some small-scale garment parts that you can use to practice "slash and spread" techniques and dart manipulations. Instruction sheets are focused on the drafting process and less on the sewing sequence as that is shown in the video. Sewing steps can be sometimes written out, and sometimes referenced back to the original video.
• Members Extra videos go into fabric selection, extra tips and tricks, best practices and some additional ideas from me
• I try to prioritize Members comments, especially if there is a question
• I try to post EARLY ACCESS videos for Members, meaning those are videos that you can watch earlier than anyone else and without ads :)
• Every week I post Members ONLY sneak peeks
• We also have Members Only FB group for sharing project pictures and inspiration
• I am not a teacher and this is not a course or a program
Thank You for being here and see you soon!

You can use old plastic coated picnic tablecloths for the lining of those snack bags. They get beat up and tear, so instead of throwing them out reuse the good parts for lining for wet bags of all sorts.

When it comes to ziploc bags in my crafting space I usually try to reuse them from packaging. For example some things will come packaged in mini ziploc bags, which are PERFECT for storing buttons, safety eyes, etc. Bigger bags get used to keep projects in when they have lots of small pieces. There’s no reason they have to be single use!

Oh for sure :) that's what I do - when fabric arrives in those thick plastic bags, or when I used to subscribe to Burda Style it would arrive in a think plastic envelope - I still use those bags and that was years ago.

Love the soap holder idea! You can reduce a lot of plastic by buying barred soap from a natural store (no packaging). And I didn't realize it would be so easy to make beeswax wraps! Also, thanks for doing the test on the dryer sheets!

I'm very new to sewing and have been obviously watching a lot of videos. Especially yours! I'm not sure if you already have, but it'd be so neat to hear how you started because I'm sure I'm not the only one who gets discouraged or frustrated. Then to see where you are now is amazing. I hope and can't wait to get to where you are. I think it'd be the best hobby and distraction for me personally from my anxiety and everything. Thanks so much! :)

Alisha, hello there :) first of all - thank you for watching and you will totally get further and further with every project, sewing is a skill/craft that develops with practice :) you can totally do it! And you are right - we all get discouraged and frustrated, it is part of the journey. I have done videos on sewing fails and how I started sewing as well, just go to the "video" tab on my channel and you can find it there :)

This is definitely what I do. I use old fabric from clothes I can't wear anymore, old curtains, blankets, old fabric I bought awhile back. And make em look brand new. It surprises ppl when I tell what tha garment or bag was made out of. Their like " Huhhh "...I laugh or giggle. I'm making a clutch outta old pillow cases & plastic you get when you buy bed comforters..!! Still sketching out the design.
