As an Engl;ishman, I liked your succinct definition of 'Idiom' and the examples shown. Some of them have an historic background to how they came into usage but these are now forgotten about and would only complicate if they were to be mentioned. Thanks for your excellent leadership and teaching.

Here are the 9 idioms used in one paragraph : Yesterday, I was ‘on cloud nine’ after my test, but my friend was ‘down in the dumps.’ He has a ‘heart of gold,’ so I cheered him up. I ‘burned the midnight oil,’ then ‘hit the hay.’ In the morning, I ‘cut to the chase,’ then ‘bit the bullet’ and gave a speech, and it was a ‘piece of cake’! Finally, I ‘called it a day.’

Yes Sir, I personally feel it's quite correct that learning idioms will definitely increase our English level. Here are some of the idioms I know.... A stitch in time saves the nine. It's not a cup of tea. Time is money.
