Being non needy is a life-change thing. I've been working on this, thanks to the Winggirl method, making me aware, and it has made differences in my dating, social, and even emotional well-being. Lot's of "macho men" may think they're not needy, but honestly, "macho" doesn't correlate to non-needy. It bleeds into a lot of these other things, IMO. I use conversation starters. Things you can say to a guy. “These guys are pretty good” when at a venue with live music. “That looks good, where did you get it?” when at a location with multiple food vendors. You can see right away if they are interested in conversing more. No material there to manipulate and destroy a man’s life with. The possibility of that is so rare that it just becomes an excuse.

Something weird that I notice is that these women seem to say the exact same thing and it's driving me up the wall. They say "I am too fucked up, and full of trauma. I want you to find someone better for you." Normally I'd dismiss this as a strike out, no big deal. But two women have said this to me using almost the same language. I'll be straight up with you about the rejection and embarrassment, because a couple of my friends were straight up with me. They've always been really good with picking up attractive women and being in long term relationships, with women I myself would have wanted to be with and never could. They both independently told me in separate conversations the same, exact, thing, about their success. After twenty years of friendship each respectively, I guess they finally felt comfortable or whatever to reveal it. Here's what they told me: Exactly as Marni said, they got rejected a lot. But they powered through it all, because they were absolutely desperate. Like, in life, in their overall life circumstances. Economics, housing, etc., they _needed_ girlfriends. To share the load with, to have a security option behind them... just to have a friend always with them including overnights. It was do or die for them, literally to survive I've never been that desperate in my life personally, just on a surface level I've usually had a good job, and some reserves and backups ready even when I lost a job and whatnot. And unlike my two friends I mentioned here, I had my family behind me. I couldn't become destitute or whatever, ever, that wasn't an option. So I guess I never.... developed that hunger, that desperation, to make it happen with women, like my two Uber-sucessfiul friends did That's it, that's the secret pal. There's this girl I've been talking to at the gym. A few weeks ago she started working at the front desk, told me because she wants to become a personal trainer. She's into 👙bodybuilding and gaming+ horror movies (I'm a 💪bodybuilder, and pro gamer) = I think we could be a great match.🤩 She seems (at least acted as such) VERY impressed by my work (gaming content creator) and somewhat into me, often giving me physique compliments. What's holding me back from really flirting with her and asking her out is the big age difference (I'm 35 although I look a lot younger, and I THINK she is around 18) and wondering how she feels about that. I notice she is friends with a bunch of the younger crowd/HS kids in the gym, but she seems a bit older than them (has a few piercings and a tattoo, plus acts more mature), this suggests she may be under age also. . . 1: If she happens to be under age, obviously I can't be hanging out alone with her at all (need to protect myself). 2: If she is 18+, the age difference isn't an issue for me.
