it all depends on the vehicle you are tinting. If the inside gasket is much lower than the outside gasket then you will have room to do the shrinking on the inside of the glass.. If the window is really curved and has alot of fingers (bubbles) to shrink then i suggest shifting the tint upwards about 1/8th of an inch leaving a small gap on the bottom when the tint is on the outside and shrink it like that. it takes practice to learn how each car differs but just keep trying and it will become second nature. best of luck to you!

PlatinumTinting Very nice job and good speed. Hey i bought some solar gard smoke hd 35% tint off from metrorestyling tinting, im not sure why but i did the same steps you did from preping the window and razor bladin the surface to cutting and shrinking to squeegee out water and i also have the j&j baby solution mix. anyhow i dont know what i did wrong or what went wrong when i finished my tint job, i wonder if you ever came across the same situation as me. I'm hoping you can give me some adivise or tips? So when i finished squeegeeing out the water with my cheap ebay squeegee i saw like a hazy foggy tint view from the inside and it looked ugly, and around the center (of my driver side) window there was like a few clear tinted stains. Thanks for reading hope you can help!!

@jperdue35674 жыл бұрын
@@thesouthernlife4061 so you're telling me that by this video he taught you that you need soapy water? Did he mention that you need to be sure that the side with the film should be facing out when you trim along the edges of the window and cutting to fit? Did he explain that you need to be sure to wipe from the center out so to not create air bubbles in the tint while you're applying it? Hold up, I think I heard him say he uses the heat gun to "shrink" the tint or help it to form bett...... Nope my bad, he hasn't said Jack shit. He damn sure didn't explain to be careful to get the edges on the tint down below the window molding and secure so it doesn't peel up on you. Point is, one can learn little to nothing from this one specific video. Be mindful not to open your mouth and respond when it's not necessary. SMH fucking moron

Why did you start cutting the release liner? Was there a particular reason? Just curious
@Fafo_daddy4 жыл бұрын
Tim Quinn so it doesn’t collect dust from the panel on the door while it’s resting on the panel while doing the top???
@SlaysTheDay4 жыл бұрын
@@Fafo_daddy Usually that's accomplished without cutting it at all and leaving it uncut keeps the film further away from panel dirt and out of the hundreds of top loaders i've seen he's the only time i've seen it cut. I think cutting it would have more to do with less creases at the sides where the liner would likely push it further away at the side stripping and make it crease, which is not uncommon with top loading. But this Sean dude bottom loads everything now anyway.
