Melanie C is a world class vocalist with so much soul. Her solo stuff is immense and her best work by far imo is on "the sea". I'm a rock music fan and Melanie does both soul and rock in the same songs, immense talent. Never a fan of the Spice Girls but glad she was in that band as it gave her the opportunity to showcase her talent with a solo career.

Melanie C is always spot on about everything. She is one of the truly great women in the world: brilliant, talented, independent, wise, fun, loving, honest, gorgeous - we need to clone her. Men around the world are looking for women like this and they are nowhere to be found. Truth is that the world right now needs the Spice Girls more than ever. Their message of girl power has been flipped by today's society and is a huge problem. We need the Spice Girls back to save the world.

I admire Mel for having the strength to say no to another Spice Girls reunion because of the fact that it would not have been all five of them. She is right. Spice Girls was about the five of them. When I see the shows and videos they basically had to do (according to Mel here) after Geri left, it always feels like the balance has been destroyed. And Geri was always my least favorite of them! You know it would have been the easiest way for all them to generate a lot of cash fairly quickly, so I respect her for maintaining her integrity, and the integrity of the brand.

I wish more Spice Girls fans would look at this interview before they attack Victoria for not joining the 2019 tour even though she had every right to decline and put herself first. People constantly criticise Victoria, slag her off and say she brought nothing to the band yet they wasted no time calling her a snob or ungrateful for saying no to the stadium tour. She has millions, her husband has millions, she doesn’t have to make herself sick and nervous and she doesn’t have to upset herself reading everyone saying negative things about her if she was part of the tour for some money. She joined the reunion tour in 2007/08 because that was supposed to be the last tour and a treat for the fans, then the olympics was a massive one off and a great way to bow out of being in one of the biggest girl bands of all time, as much as I loved the tour last year it was clearly one big cash grab which is why she put her foot down and said no. Just because you bought their albums and went to their tours back in the 90s doesn’t mean Victoria owes you anything.

She is right about female role models in music these days. I cannot get my head around those idiots who say that they are empowered by taking their clothes off and by portraying a highly sexual image. It feels like a big con. What would be more empowering would be to keep your clothes on and focus less on beauty and sex. That is the reason that I appreciate artists such as Kate Bush, PJ Harvey and Adele. Their interest lies in their individuality, creativity and talent. If you have those things, there is no need to wander around in underwear or dresses slashed down to the navel and up to the thigh.

***** You have somewhat missed the point.

I think there are a number of 'role models' for young girls in music ..unfortunately we just ignore them in favour of attention grabbers. That's where parents offer guidance surely.
