Unlike reading a how-to guide, or endlessly searching on the google to find the most appropriate this or that, this video is a beautiful visual audiobook chronicling the biography of this beautiful yet simple aquascape. It is a three dimensional landscape painting with the ability to slowly morph and evolve as the artist sculpts and adds detail until it becomes a magical world that you could watch forever. I don't know who the judgey jackasses are but everything about this video is excellent. As a beginner and a visual learner it perfectly explains what I was hoping to understand and gives me so much to look forward to as I try my hand at this new art form. For far too long, aquarium keeping has been a monoculture of square or rectangular post modern brutalism, leaving almost no room for the imagination and amounted to one modifying the furniture and potted plants inside different sized office buildings. Now it seems that there is no limit except in one's imagination. I do have one question though. The snails. Especially nerites. How did he manage the obnoxious, unsightly, and impossible to remove from rock, eggs? I had these snails for the same reason he said he was keeping them; the excellent cleanup work they do. However they quickly destroyed every single item I placed in the tank because they were constantly laying eggs on every surface. I was able to scrape them off the glass easily enough with a razor blade, but they ruined so many of my beautiful rocks and they are still stuck all over them even though it has been at least 5 years and I've bristle brushed them, soaked them in various solutions, and took a wire brush to the crevices. I just cringed when I heard him say the species. How did he stop them from laying on the rocks? Did the snails not like that particular type of rock? Any tips or alternative species of cleaner animal (I love shrimp but they don't do the same job) would be super!
@JurijsJutjajevs Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your feedback. I don’t use Nerite snails for the mentioned reasons. I find Clithon sp. better in surviving (lower mortality) and they do less eggs. In general both species have male and female specimens and if you are lucky you only have the one or the other and in this rare case - no eggs. I guess the porous volcanic rocks are less attractive as a surface too

The narration style reminded me of the countless hours I spent watching The Green Machine videos. I actually like the style, but I think what takes you out of the moment is that a lot of the footage was shot without taking this style into account. So every time there is a shot of you explaining something to camera and you hear a narrator, there is a disconnect and it takes you out of the moment. Plus, as a loyal viewer, I had seen all of the footage before so it was hard to really stay with it like I normally would. I wouldn't give up on the style, Jurijs. It's definitely something I think is worth keeping in the mix. But next time consider shooting with the style in mind.

This experiment doesn’t fulfill what ‘The Green Machine’ accomplished so well. While I applaud Jurijs & Logan- it doesn’t use either of their combined talents to the best effectiveness, and seems a draft that ultimately, while technically great, is a detractor to the great expectations of a Namesake channel. It’s crafting doesn’t introduce anything new, yet postpones us from that which we’ve come to love. Change can be good for all; in this final analysis, I humbly submit a plea for, nay, a cry for Jurijs & Logan to recombine for a return to what was developing a natural, beautiful, and successful organic evolution to the channel. Something that can be observed from an outsider most easily, and acutely observed with a glorious binge watching of all the videos; combined with spectacular pop up visits on other Aquascaping channels. Respectfully, fanatically- James :-)

I watch with delight several times all your videos since the first confinement in France. I love your job and ended up being convinced by twinstar. So I bought a Twinstar 300E III to replace my very white Chihiros A301 with a yellowish finish. I am very surprised to find the same yellowish color with twinstar, however very well known (by you in particular). I am disappointed, the color rendering is exactly the same for a handsome higher price. Anyway, I understand that you are promoting your sponsors but I wanted you to know that this leads to illusions and disappointments.

Of course, it's one of the best Aquascaping video-series. But, please, everyone, don't put fish in such a small tank! Almost every german source f.e. recommends at least 50 litres for the attitude of this fish. Maybe 40 litres would be somehow ok, but not 17 litres! 17 litres are a catastrophy for 11 or 12 fish! :(
