Great video! So helpful! My first carpeting plant was Sagittaria subulata. It completely took over my tank but I loved the wild unkept look. It kept my tank stable for years but I made the mistake of ripping it all out (took forever) as it caused an imbalance and ultimately lead to an algae outbreak I have now.

@@JurijsJutjajevs I am very confused about lighting. How to measure the proper amount of light. If my tank has low light plants but also high light plants, do I give enough light for the high ones but would that mean too much for the low light needs? Or should a tank be designed to have only one type of light requirements (e.g. all low light or high light plants)? Thanks for the reply. 💝
@JurijsJutjajevs5 жыл бұрын
Light requirement is always a minimum requirement. If you only have low light you should only use plants that are ok with low light. If you have strong light, you can use any type of plants. But remember, slow growing plants such as Anubias or crypts might attract algae if growing under too much light, this plants should be planted in shadowed areas. Such as underneath Hardscape or next to very large plants that will overshadow them anyway
@continuousself-improvement18795 жыл бұрын
@@JurijsJutjajevs ok, thank you for the ideas. I might do a rescape because one of my tanks is a mess and I have not figured out if it's because of incorrect lighting strength, not enough plants, water too hard, or maybe my base fert is leaching into the water. 😰

Always defeated by it (temperatura control, I now found out by Tomi from GreenAqua) - still traumatized and Bankrupted by the last 3 attempts, ah ah ah I'm staying away from it for now... LOL So I'm back to good-old, safe, hustle-free, forgiving, rewarding, Monte Carlo nowadays :)

My first carpeting plant was lilaeopsis (specific type not labeled), I purchased 10 5cm pots from a local aquarium. Put it into an old 120cm 200 liter tank that only had plastic ornaments. Also planted with about 30 stem plants, put in a few rocks and tossed the plastic. The unfortunate part was it was my only tank and it also had 42 mollies... it only took a few weeks for the plants to either melt or be eaten. Mistakes were made but some things you can only learn yourself the hard way.

Glosso was my first with JBL substrate. Grew amazingly with CO2, high lighting, and the substrate. Got ruined when I bought a cichlid unknowingly as a newbie and it destroyed it all, throwing the tank out of balance and letting BBA and algae take over. Would love to get glosso again soon

So great! A question though, no fertilizer used?

It's pretty good but i think you can make more bigger by standing the big rock more at the 95 Degrees to the smallest rock to make it very Deep like Fukada Scapes Your scape is really good but i was talking about more details to be more professional great tank Hello from Egypt ❤️

Thank you for the very nice instructional and inspirational video. How would you prevent or fight with mold if it appears during the dry start phase?

I loved this and I plan to buy an aquarium set it up. I have one question though " How do you change the water" ?
@JurijsJutjajevs4 жыл бұрын
With a water bucket
@afafsgdchdhdg4 жыл бұрын
I mean when you change the water do you remove the soil and other stuff ? or just change the water
@ahuffman61554 жыл бұрын
Anish Rajan You just change the water, no need to disrupt the rest of your tank.

Anish Rajan I recommend watching FooTheFlowerthorns channel as he shows a lot of the day to day maintenance he does on his tanks.
