There are probably alot of non-subscribers who also watched within those 5 days. So it's probably alot lower than 70%. In fact, most of the people who watch any given video of a big youtuber are not subscribers. I've seen plenty of KZbinrs try to get those who are not subscribed, but always watch their videos, to subscribe by showing them these stats.

So, just found this channel today and have been binging them even though I don't care that much about eating challenges or the like, but really like Mr. Beard who is a total class act. At any rate, after seeing quite a few UK restaurants have newish food challenges and staff there knowing who he is, I've come to the conclusion they're basically responding to his hijinks as a way to get some pretty cheap advertisement for their establishments but setting up these food challenges they know he'll eventually make his way to. Which I think is genius. It's a win-win for everyone really.
