I'm an engineer from Vegas and I do a lot of jazz so lots of upright bass, man you can play! My personal favorites for miking upright actually aren't on your list so here's a few more things to try! Take your wedge position and put it inside the hole of the bridge. Typical mic is an sm57 pointed up towards the fingerboard but it's super easy and it works fantastic, my preferred way of doing this actually isn't with foam but to take some rubber bands or hair ties and suspend the mic inside that way using the hair ties to basically make a shock mount within the bridge of the bass and I'll swap the sm57 with a cardioid SDC or omni SDC if the room sounds good. If you can get some baffling around the bassist then the omni might surprise you! Another easy way with this is to get an ear trumpet labs Nadine which is SUCH an awesome mic. My personal favorite technique is by taking a stereo LDC and set it up in a vertical XY with each capsule pointed at the bridge and fingerboard respectively, any XY pair would work just make sure the mics are coincident with each other and leave each capsule panned up the middle in ProTools. I like doing it that way because on it's own it's got so much low end to it that you get the body of the bass with enough clarity to keep the bass articulate in the mix with next to no EQ needed if done right, but if you want more of that pluck sound just boost 4k and you'll be good to go. I'd also be happy to provide some demos if you wanted to hear any of these techniques in action. Great work though man!

Thanks for this man! Seriously thanks for taking the time to type this all up. Funny enough while I was editing this video I saw an insta of someone talking about suspending an SDC with rubber bands from the bridge. Makes sense that it would work, it’s the same position you get with a DPA 4099. I used one at a gig once, sounded nice. I had thought of doing a vertical xy config, but had dismissed it as a crazy idea of mine, apparently I should have followed my instincts. I’ll be sure to give these a whirl. Thanks again for dropping in!

I liked the wedge under the fingerboard sound.

It’s surprisingly a good sound. A little janky to set up, but a nice sound.
