I found this video by accident and I am very glad I did. I've had my X-H1 for quite some time as I bought it when the price in the UK dropped to £1,200 and I was naturally temped by the X-H2. Having watched your video I have realised just how good the X-H1 is and since I don't use the video function there's not much point in upgrading to the X-H2. Thank you for saving me from spending the £1,500 it would cost me to upgrade to the X-H2.

Hi Tinsley, awesome review as always. Honestly i totally agree with you on the fact that the XH1 doesn't get the attention it truly deserves. I just got mine 3 days ago and my it is an awesome piece of photographic equipment for the price. The shutter of the xh1 is amazing it's almost as if it's not part of the camera bounces softly with a soft release guaranteeing shake free images. I just love it. This is a beautiful kit for beginner pros in almost all genre of photography/videography.

I wanted to compare ibis using "only when shooting" and"Continuous". I had my eye up to the EVF while in continous, and couldn't believe how stable this 135, (now a 200mm on Fuji) imagery was looking live in the viewfinder. It knocked me for a loop. What a magic act.

Cheers… hope all is well? I finally pulled the trigger and added a Fuji camera to my toolbox. Taking your advice about expanding and working with multiple brands. My search was something for street photography. Whilst SONY I believe has far superior specs, glass and image quality. FUJI has picture character. Pictures take on a personality. Went to Mapcamera in Tokyo and traded in (3) SONY lenses I don’t use and picked up the Fuji X-S10. The film simulations are very nice to shoot with. BTW, I adjusted my PP1 to recipe for Classic Neg and really looks great. Hope to change more Picture Profiles to Kodak and Fuji simulations. Don’t plan to abandon Sony (too vested in glass) and like it… but it takes work. I think I’ll find Fuji easy to use.

On all those Fujifilm camera, there is one big flaw, that prevent them to begin really viable compared to other product on the market, the fact that for 1500 Euro, you can get a full sensor camera from other brands, like Canon, and the difference from APS-C and full sensor is like day and night. So getting to pay 2/3k for the newer models, is just a way to waste money. There are no good Pros, when there is a very big cons.
@DonTinsley7 ай бұрын
In a sense I agree. There are some great cameras out there, and all of them has pros and cons. To some, cameras are tools, to others they are collectible, and way out on the fringes there are those who are driven by specs, possibilities, potential performance, and bang for the buck. They all see the qualities and quirks of cameras as pros and cons. I don’t think sensor size really matters that much in some cases. For instance, if I were in the market for a camera that was more video centric and my two options were the Sony A7III or the Sony FX30 I’d go with the FX30 due to its video capabilities regardless of the sensor size. But with that I know that there are some sacrifices I’d be making with going with either option. I’ve created professional work with Micro 4 thirds, APS-C, and Full frame, I enjoy my Full Frame cameras, but when it comes to user experience, ability, and creativity the sensor is a quirk whether it’s full frame, APS-C, or the laughable sensors in smart phones. BUT, when you throw money in the mix, I’m penny pinching for the best deal based on my needs! Thank you for commenting! Stay awesome!! 😎

Hey Don. Your video is keeping me inches away from getting the XH1. I haven't really been into photography for the past few years. But for the past few months I've been playing with the XT4 at the office and thought I should get a Fuji on budget. Believe me when I say that the XT4 never really blew me away, even though my previous camera was just a Canon 7D and 700D. Befor that was just a D800 and D90. But I grew to like the Fuji hence why I'm here 🤣 If it's image quality, the XT4 destroys my previous cameras. But it's way too pricey for something that I'm not gonna use as much. But I could definitely get an XT2 or X-H1 🤣 I've already got a 16-55 F2.8, 90mm and 56mm lens for use. Now my real question is. How does the X-H1 fare with the likes of the XT4? Although I'm more of a Sony fanboy, but I don't have sony lenses nor have I owned any from em hence not the route I'm taking. I just stopped and sticked with the 7D and 700D i got back in 2014 🥲 So putting that aside. It's mostly for pictures. Since I shoot most of my Videos on the Osmo Pocket 2. Sorry for making this comment a lot longer than it had to be. Thanks in advance if you'll reply 🤣

The X-H1 is a great camera for anyone based on budget and what they are looking to get out of the camera. It is a great camera, photo quality is great and you can’t go wrong with the X-H1. It is a camera you can grow into as a beginner. With that said, I know it is hard to decide which camera to get when starting out because of all the information out there. What I did as a beginner is I just chose one camera and that was the canon sl2. I used it until I found I needed more out of the camera and the SL2 no longer met my needs so I upgraded. In the end, based on your willingness to push the camera to its limits to determine if it is a great fit for you is through trial, error, and frustrations. That is how I learned that the X-H1 is a great camera for how I use it. Let me know if this helps.

@andychandler3992 yes that one still stays on. I just shoot till it dies lol. I’ve recently been walking around with both the X-H1 and the X100F. What I found is that the X-H1 requires a higher power draw and the camera shuts down once it gets close to the 1 bar mark, but I can swap the batteries between the two and the X100f would register the battery still having at least 2 full bars. Although the screen itself helpful should have a off switch

Hello, I am torn between xh1, xs10 and canon r7.. Is xh1 older tech Is xs 10 lighter and newer sensor and better pics and video capability??
@DonTinsley2 жыл бұрын
Yes, the X-H1 is older tech, but there are some minor differences when it comes to the X-H1 and the XS-10 ranging from body design, and button layout, and the X-H1 having a slightly faster shooting modes when it comes to shooting fast action, and wildlife, other than that they've very very comparable. The Canon R7 is in its own class when it comes to certain features like autofocus and video modes, however, they're all phenomenal cameras when it comes to photography. With choosing which one to go with either Fujifilm or canon, it s all about what you want to user experience. Canon cameras are a bit tamer, and Fujifilm is a little more flexible. I've not used the R7 or the XS-10, but I've heard good things. As far as the FujiFilm X-H1, I've had it for nearly a year, and it is great. I will be making a 1 year later review soon. Before choosing either camera, take into account lens selection, and whether you see either camera as the one you can grow with and stick with for at least 3 years. I am interested in which you decide to go with. Keep me updated on your decision!

@@DonTinsley Just because the body has older technology doesn’t mean it is obsolete or inadequate. Sometimes newer models have incremental improvements. The question is will this camera produce the results you want and need. If a camera produced great looking images eight years ago then it will continue producing great results now. You are compensated for the older technology with a lower price. The question is are the newer cameras so much better than the XH1 you are willing to pay more for it? I am a serial purchaser of older bodies. They do what I need and want. I don’t buy new bodies and reap the rewards of great bodies at discounted prices. Exception. @@martingreenberg870 distinguishing the difference between old tech and new design is something I’d not quit grasped in the beginning when purchasing gear, but the deeper I dive I can see that the oldest tech was at one point the greatest tech, and with often cameras are released the updated or innovation can’t be that vast. How is it switching from photo to video and back? Is there a way to preserve basic settings for each mode?
@DonTinsley Жыл бұрын
Great question. You can have different setting for photo modes versus video modes. Some setting may transfer over if you are controlling the ISO and Shutter speed with the dials on the top of the camera. Long explanation short, it is possible to have custom setting for each mode, however some setting may carry over between each mode. And that is aside from the quick menus profiles you are able to set up within each mode based on whether you are shooting single shot, video, flog vs film simulation, or burst photo. Hope this makes sense

I've not had the pleasure of using the XT3, but what I can say is that the X-H1 produces great photo and video files. It all boils down to price, what you are looking for in a camera, what you will be using it for, and if you feel good about the lenses you already have. Both cameras are good, the XT3 has some updated feature, and one of the deciding factors is whether that updated features really matter when it comes to what you are shooting and how you're shooting.

Don - Appreciate the review compadre. Watched this after watchin' the 3 reasons NOT to get the sucka - & battery life can be a muhfuh. I assume it's got a setup I can plugin to the wall somehow for studio shooting & other than the battery grip - maybe if I rig it with a cage - a legit lithium ion battery add-on (might've been a great thing to touch on - since imonna go figure that shyiz out after i leave this comment. If I may, leave a bit of constructive criticism - bein' how this is my 1st experience with your channel, & seein' the # of subs you got - I can't imagine you're tryna chill at 700 subs & if you can progress based the input from my experience, I figure leaving a comment is something that might help. Please understand, i mean no disrespect. I ended up having to watch through this a whole bunch of times to get the gist - and practice some of the most "active listening" i can recall watchin a youtube video. The reason being - your speaking cadence is about 30% faster than what I would call "conversational speed", combine that with the fact that vocally - it's clear you are reading & not actually "speaking to someone" - itr makes it difficult for my brain to be able to just naturally listen to & hear what you're sayin, man. If you watch this back, paying attention to JUST the monotonous nature of your speaking mannerism, you might see how the lack of intonation doesn't give the watcher/listers brain anywhere that gives audio punctuation-type signals. (if that makes sense). That, & the fact you just don't sound excited about what you're sayin. If i could tell you what I'd do, I'd practice with a zoom recorder, JUST doing vocal audio, & pretend I'm speaking to someone I ABSOLUTELY LOVE talking to, about something i'm flat out excited to tell her. When you can play it five times straight & your brain isn't wandering off on it's own, you're there. Your set is beautiful, the foootage looks great & the audio quality is soilid. The only other thing is maybe give a longer beat or two or a pause when you're demonstrating/showing something. - the stabilization example with the cat bed is a good example. By the time my brain even registered what you were showing me - the shot was gone - don't be in such a hurry ;) Wish ya nothin but success my friend. Imonna be startin' mhy own channel in short order & I am 1THOUSAND percent certain - it's gonna be HOT GARBAGE compared to what you got goin' on. Once I do, If you'd take the time to return the favor, I'd be immensely appreciative. Take care.

if the camera is intended for pro-ish use, I understand the argument of going for the X-H1 however, if you're a beginner, the X-H1 is probably not the best investment when the X-T2 exists. It does not have IBIS, but it's half the price with the same autofocus and sensor performance. It's also way smaller and versatile in my opinion. The biggest thing about the X-H1 really is the grip and the IBIS, but those things as good as they are, do not justify to pay double the price when you can have a camera that does 95% of what this one does for half the price (and is also way more avaiable) just my 2 cents though, the X-H1 is still a wonderful camera
@DonTinsley2 жыл бұрын
Agreed! The same goes for anyone looking into the XT3 over the x-H1, or the XT4 over the XT3. In comparison, all the cameras are the same camera with minor updates, but the price between all of them are unjustifiable or justifiable dependent on the person, price, budget, what they are looking for in a camera, and experience. The X-T2 is still a great option to look into even today.
