I have 5800 miles on my Monkey and 1000 on my wife’s. My engine started tapping at 5000, but the dealer adjusted and fixed the issue. Stay away from the Vance and Hines exhaust…..no heat shield. I learned that the hard way. My Harley is for long trips, and the Monkey is my grocery-getter or ride-to-the-beach bike.

Good to know, haven’t had anything engine issues on my monkey yet but I had to replace the front axle because I think mine was slightly warped and I could feel the vibration. The monkey is so much fun for quick little rides around town. Can’t wait for riding season, thanks for the comment!

The first valve adjustment is at 600 miles and according to the owners manual every 4,000 miles after that personally I would check them every 2,000 miles . So, if that had not been done it was due. I have a 2023.

My monkey made a horrible noise starting. They do break. Mines still in the shop and they can’t figure out what’s wrong with it. Videos on my page is you wanna hear it

@ they replaced the starter clutch, that didn’t fix the noise. Now they’re replacing the starter. Hopefully that solves it.
