That is a bad tip. airsoft batteries are generally hardly used compared to like the ones in your cellphone. They are going to last far longer. They say 3 years because that is about 1 charge cycle per day, which is in line with the average charge cycle rating for lithium batteries.

Storage charge for a lipo cell is about 3.85v so if it’s a 2cell lipo (7.4v is written on it) it should have about 7.7v. A fully charged lipo cell is 4.2v so fully charged your 7.4v lipo will be at 8.2v. If a lipo cell drops below 3v it can be damaged. This is why a balance charger is the safest bet as it monitors each cell of the battery.
@incognito1559 Жыл бұрын
Ok there is a misconception SOMETIMES where a battery becomes round and it is mistaken for swelling. Some batteries are wrapped in heat shrink tubing and if a battery gets warm outside or something like that the tubing can shrink and contract on the battery over time making it appear round. In this case the battery is fine and can still be used. Don’t mistake this and puffy battery though. Check your batteries voltages and always charge and use it with caution
@CundC3 жыл бұрын
At Point 7, most site write, you should store your lipo not fully charged our you shorten the lifespane of the lipo. Most charger have the function Storage, that should be enough.
@evikecom3 жыл бұрын
For chargers with a 'Storage' function, yes, absolutely you should put them at a voltage optimal for storage. However, if all you have is a basic charger, storing charged is your best option.
@mikeauxmidget97853 жыл бұрын
Kinda new to airsoft but how often should charge a LiPo? How long do they last? How do I know if it’s full? And just questions like that
@evikecom3 жыл бұрын
- You should only ever charge a LiPo battery with the correct type of charger. These LiPo chargers will automatically stop charging the LiPo when it is full (often there will be an indicator light when the battery is done charging). - Keep the LiPo topped up when not in use, to prevent the voltage from getting too low. - If you have an advanced charger, you should read the instructions thoroughly. Advanced chargers can be made to put LiPo batteries into a 'storage' mode (a specific voltage) which will prolong the life of the battery if it's sitting unused. - The lifespan of a LiPo battery depends on a lot of things, but every three years or so it's a good idea to swap out for new ones. Use your best judgement and never hesitate to ask questions. You can contact us directly if you like. support@evike.com (626) 286-0360 7:00am to 5:00pm PST Monday through Friday www.evike.com/faq/

Question: What's the difference between LiPo and Li-Ion? Which one is better?
@evikecom3 жыл бұрын
Li-Ion will be more energy dense than Li-Po (more mAh in a similar size), so they will typically last longer for any given size of battery. Li-Ion is more stable, and not as susceptible to damage from impact because of steel-cased cells. Also usually have a longer lifespan and are more forgiving in terms of discharging. Li-Ion batteries are a bit bulkier than Li-Po, however.

Im new to having lipo batteries and need advice. I just got a basic tenergy tn267 charger yesterday. I just learned about how important it is about discharging and placing it in storage mode. I play airsoft about 1-2 times week this (winter break). In college I won't be able to play airsoft for about 2-3 months. Would it be safe to replace the charger with an advanced charger to place it in storage mode for the 2-3 months? Instead of storing the battery when fully balanced/charged? Also often should i charge my battery? Im afraid of the battery exploding when its in storage for too long. (I also have an ammo box for battery storage)
@evikecom3 жыл бұрын
Good questions! You should charge your lithium batteries every six months to keep them 'fresh'. Putting them at a storage charge while you're not playing is an excellent idea. Also keep the ammo can away from other flammable materials, just to be extra safe. So far it sounds like you're doing everything right!

What happens is you overcharge a battery
@nicholaspratt84732 жыл бұрын
It would probably metaphorically burst at the seems with energy. Voltage in general is something you want to watch with AEGs. If it survives overcharging it can damage your rifle. Specifically the sector gear and triggers suffer from a powerful battery (again if the battery survives). It can make the sector gear (the one pulling the piston) to spin so fast it punches the piston on it's way back. Happened to my first gun. Combined with a room in my house that was particularly cold on the cold winter night before.
