9 second WRX for $1000??

On this episode of Dirtcheapdaily, the Carver House Rally guys go check out a 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX that was posted on craigslist for $1000!
The guy wouldn't send Matt any pictures of it and he didn't have the title for it so we figured it might be stolen.
Further inquiry told us that it used to be a rally car and the current owner had it set up for drag racing. He ran a 9 second quarter mile at 32PSI on stock injectors. After the run the engine seized and it sat until we took a look!
We didn't end up buying this car because Matt didn't have the space and it wasn't in good enough condition to justify parting it out.

If the seats weren't ripped, then the seats and brakes would almost make it worth it. Plus you've got the new style dash and console with the cup holders, wheels/tires, wiring harness, ECU, cluster, Crossmember, etc all you could sell or keep for a swap

Thats not a rotated kit, he made a downpipe for a cummins turbo that looked like garbage and built a bracket in his garage. Wouldnt call that any official kit.
