I was very glad to see how Jay approached the issue of a nuclear event, especially on nuclear weapons being used. Unfortunately most people are in denial of the possibility because they view that subject as totally unsurvivable for everyone, therefore it cannot happen. A nuclear weapons exchange is one of the worst events that could happen (more than likely will happen based on human nature, human history and prophetic statements from a number of sources including my own Christian background) therefore, make appropriate preparations for your situation. This will greatly increase your chances of survival, comfort, and your ability of helping other people after the events.

@@jimphillips6960 I am in Hawaii we had that emergency message on the phone...... ballistic missle incoming to Hawaii . This is not a drill. Take shelter at once. This was on our phone, the TV, radio and even the interstate hwy...had the message on their digital signs. Everyone believe we were dead duck. I was prepared for tsunami, hurricanes even the volcano but nuclear did not pay attention. You are right I was in a pickle because I had no idea what to do and everyone one around had the attitude well we are going to die with in minutes.That got me into studies major...there are tons of things you can do and make it through it. Awesome book about Nuclear blast and two third of the people in the cities it hit lived through that bomb, great book about a doctor in the blast zone lived and how he worked in a hospital treating himself and others. That view of unservivalbe happening was the mode....thr people were in their yard looking at the sky trying to see the missiles...they were on the phone calling love ones saying good by.... @@tylerandmaren There were several good shows, unfortunately some did not run very long. "I Shouldn't Be Alive" was good. There was "Survivorman", "Surviving Disaster". "Survivor" was a pathetic, useless game show. But the worst and most dangerous series ever made, that is reported actually lead to the death of at least one person was "Man vs Wild", a very bad show centered around an extremely skilled guy who regularly demonstrated how to kill yourself. In on episode it was obvious that the camera had to cutaway and the film crew had to rescue him. Bear Grylls was a very dangerous showoff. I used it as a prime example in my class "Realty TV Will Kill You". One of the best eyeopening reality programs were the PBS "House" series, Frontier House" and "Colonial House". I recommend both as a reality check for you preparedness efforts.

While I feel for those who's lives have been devasted by him, I feel fortunate that he fizzled out before he got to my area. Jonathan and Kylene, I feel that you have been instumental in my advancing so far in my preparedness over the last year and a half. Your approach has really appealed to me with no doom and gloom or scare tactics. I have especially enjoyed the last few videos with the guest experts really digging deep into their area of expertise. I appreciate my many friends and their kind words and support. Because I don't have a staff yet to carry some of the load I use audio books as a way to cover new resources while I'm engaged in other tasks. Since I started doing that it has allowed me to find books that I need to buy to have a physical copy to highlight, underline and study. This is especially important for future reference when there will be now internet or operating electronic devices and I need reference material or a way to teach others. The audio books also allow me to easily revisit many books several times a year.

I listened to recording on audio tape (1973) of Orwell's book 1984. I really wanted to read it, but the british english vocabulary made it very difficult to get through. LDS recommends water, food, finances. I think this is excellent advice. For newbies, get water, water filters, food, burner, propane, and finances. After that there are many options, many luxuries. Before I built my off the grid water access nature retreat I read Scott and Helen Nearing's book, The Good Life. Scott was an original back to nature, hippie back in the 1930's. More how to homestead than prepper book but good.

Jim reminds me sooooo much of my hero, my grandfather. My grandpa was a very special man who like Jim had Jesus as the tip of his spear. He instilled in me a love of knowledge. He always said he wanted to learn how to do everything and put it to use. He always knew that someday he would find that when he went home to be with the King. For me, my core focus for preparedness (after maintaining my faith!) has been building skills, using them, and sharing that knowledge with the people around me. Knowledge is everywhere! You never run out of space to keep it, it’s portable, and it’s always with you. Stock up now😊 . It’s fun to try new skills!!! Thank you for sharing this with us! Hi. I recently just started viewing your channel. Thanks for the wealth of knowledge and ideas you provide in your videos! So, I have been prepping somewhat for years, picking up a thing here and another thing there to add to my bugout bag. But I honestly don't know what to do with this new nuclear threat. I live only 2 miles straight line distance from a naval nuclear manufacturer of HEU as well as other military nuclear technologies. It's common sense to assume this would be a major target in the event of a nuclear war. So, I don't know if it would do me any good to invest in an underground nuclear bunker. I also am not financially capable of making a move anytime soon. Are there any things you would recommend for this possible scenario?

@stuartaminion5112 жыл бұрын
i am no expert so take this with a 1/2 gram of salt but it is of my thinking i want to share. here goes. do not worry you are so close to a "target" a nuke does not know where you live. once it strikes you could be 2 miles or 100 miles or not even in the state, you will be effected. so prepping is the key. (food, water, shelter, first aid, knowledge, etc.) you have these and you are good to go. an event is what happens and you react (survive). a hurricaine hits you are preppered, you survive. you do not worry if it will hit you worry when it will hit. the worry is you respond as you can, do not let the worry get in the way of living and prepping. a flood happens, tornados, fires, etc. all those could happen and the nuke is just one of something that can happen. have your supplies and knowledge the nuke is just another event that could or couldn't take place. be aware, get your supplies before something happens (a lot of people ran to the stores after (or just before)the hurraine hit in florida and found next to nothing to get. do not be those people. i do not think anyone that has something happen that is a major event thinks wow what next a nuke. they are in the time of now of surviveing. so be you, do not be thinking of the nuke near you, you can be concern, but you will never ever control that. this is just my thoughts, it is not a what to do or a telling you what to do. LIVE, survive, learn, prep, look at a bee and wonder how they fly. thank you and god speed.

It is a luxury but delicious at an excellent price. Add some pasta, canned tomatoes, and vegetables. Wow.

I think what's the most scary is that the Prophet and apostles aren't speaking about any of this. Here we just had general conference and the ultimate message is that all is well. Members don't realize what they are in for. People argue that the Prophet and Apostles have been 'saying this for years' but what about children that grew up and weren't paying attention to adult level information and are now getting married and trying to navigate life? What about new converts that missed all those messages? If they truly are prophets and apostles, shouldn't they be giving a CLEAR and UN-mistakable voice of warning???

I learned to prepare from my parents and grandparents. Parents today (me) need to prepare for obvious reasons and to be examples. I wonder the same things, why do they not come right out and say things. Idk. I do know they are speaking to a world wide church and what applies to us may not apply to all. Of course, our situation is world wide, but it may be against the law to store food or totally impossible to store food. It doesn't do any good to talk about these thngs. Teach them correct principles and they will govern themselves. Not sure anything I've said helps but it's what I am thinking right now.

@@terristucki7740 you were very blessed to learn that from your parents. I would venture to say, just looking at the wards I have been in in my life, not many have parents like that. I worry about new converts (in the last 10 years or so) and young members who don’t have a prepper mindset. They need a prophet to tell them very clearly and directly, in my opinion. That’s what Lehi spent his time doing before he left Jerusalem - cries of warning.

Why jump out of a good perfectly good airplane? I started jumping out of airplanes in the military. So let’s start there: 1. Flying beats walking humping 70+ pounds of equipment for many kilometers. 2. I served in the army late 1969 to March 1972. Most soldiers were drafted and not to there so giving the odds, even Air Force personnel joined to prevent being drafted in the army. This means the maintenance was done by “drafted” personnel. Pilots too. 3. The plane was built by the cheapest bidder.
