Heading out onto the windy open plains of the Skeleton Coast in Namibia, our Land Rover journey continues into a very isolated and desolated area... brilliantly, the day concludes with a happy ending!
This is the story of my year long LD stay in Namibia..... Please let me know what you think in the comments section, I'm always interested to know who enjoys my films, and where your from!
Thanks to Toby Savage for use of his 'Sahara Keep Pedalling' postcard picture, a lovely shot.

Trusty old Landy, those spiky rocks remind me of travelling similar roads around Tsauchab in a Ford Ranger, no punctures 🙂

Hi, I really love your channel & I appreciate all the efforts regarding the filming & fotografing. And, above all, I can imagine how you feel driving alone in a fully self-sufficient Landy. Because that's what sometimes I do with my TD5 in SA & NAM... I admire you courage; I'm not sure whether I would dare to drive that far away in a remote landscape all alone. I can't wait for the next video...

Thanks mate, I really appreciate you making the time to drop by and leave such a nice comment. It can be a fairly lonesome tasks making these, so great to get a little bit of appreciation and know that a few people are appreciating them ;-)

The longer you spend in these wide open spaces, the more you appreciate it and it's subtle charms. I heard that in a good documentary on the pistes of Morocco and it always stuck in my memory, seems to apply to the landscape you're travelling here. I think it was some guy called Darrin that im quoting, haha.....Another great episode.

That guy! What an idiot! He completely messed up my life, leading me astray to chase dreams and experiencing life instead of making money , please punch him in the nose from me if you ever meet him!! 🤪😜😝😛🤪🤪

Howdy Big D! Where did u find diesel when you left Puros? And do you have cell signal up there? Also on the meat issue - springbok and gemsbok are delicious if you can locate some or get a tag to diy! Some people recommend python but u can tell me how it was!🤠

Hi Darren, It's fascinating, you touring in the desert up north in Namibia. I pressure it's getting lonely on trips like that. Do you have any radio and do you get any radio frequencies there? I want to ask you, what tipe of camera are you using, a tipe of "Gopro"? And what video software are you using to produce & editing a video to upload on KZbin? You remind me of a toureg in a desert! 😂 Happy traveling! Braam, from Rawsonville, RSA..
@roamingyak
@roamingyak Жыл бұрын
Thanks Braam! No, I have no communications equipment. Lodges, officials etc use radios for sure. I know the area quite well and also where people tend to live and who would have a radio etc. The distances aren't too huge, I could 'walk out' in a 3 nights if I had too. Maybe not over summer, phew, crazy crazy heat up there... I just make sure I have a tonne of food and water and then enjoy the random nature of how events unfold to sort out any issue... people usually help each other out up there ;-) Out of my 7 years of driving around Africa, about 6 has been alone, so I am used to it, and to be honest its easier in many ways... I used DJI Osmo Action (more stable than GoPro), DJI Osmo Pocket on the dash and a Sony A6600. I use Apple's Final Cut Pro editing software. Cheers, Darrin

Hi mate.... I find editing is always a balance between being informative, which slows the films down a lot, and being interesting/entertaining, which a much larger audience is likely to appreciate. Can I suggest you download Tracks4Africa and iOverlander apps (free!) and I'm pretty sure you can within 5 minutes figure everything out based on the map I provide at the start? And then you can follow along in glorious detail for the rest of my films :-)
