When I go for the rear bidon I always (even in races) use the cocktail flip to get in position for the side sip, because the backward swig is so uncomfortable.

You missed out the "swap" Take bidon, drink, hold in teeth, move full bidon from rear cage to front cage, remove bidon from teeth and place in rear cage. These things can only be learned, they cannot be taught :-)

Lately i invented the the Bidonblaster: take a sip, let the bottle slip when puting it back tho the bottlecage so it enters the spokes. The rider behind you will ride through a fine mist of electrolytes witch will be absorbed by the skin. ( i realy tried it, no harm to weel and friend)
