Yeah, I don't consider most of these characters to be long running. Roman definitely wasn't the Tribal Chief when was in the Shield or when when he was a babyface. He didn't even have a stable of followers back then, which is a crucial part of his current gimmick.

The reason that it took Reigns that many tries to get over is he's just not that good. The reason the bloodline worked is because the Usos and Sammi propped him up. Eli drake has always sucked. He still sucks. It's just WWE fans will fall for a catch phrase as good wrestling.
