Those really are powerful fans, I didn’t think they would be so strong, I’m impressed!!

Good video except, I wanted to see the initial amp draw on start up.

The meters i used dont have peak hold and are to slow to respond to guess by looking at them

On the low, I saw a high of 17 amps during start-up. I would have liked to see the high on start-up. What size of fuse are you using with this fan?

Hi, What is the model/source of your digital amp meter. I've been looking to test amp draws on my drag car components and would like to build a similar test unit. Thanks, Ed G.

Thanks for sharing your experience, Is this genuine OEM ford taurus fan or OE equivalent, I am asking because i have heard that Dorman fan for Taurus doesn't perform as the Ford OEM.

It's a clone..... Any used oem one is over 25 years old at this point and I'm not trusting that.... I believe oem motors are available and can be swapped if it's a problem.... With the amount of power this thing draws I can't see it being a whole lot less capable.... And my numbers seem to be about the same as what I've seen in other tests..... This particular one Is a spectra.

If you're talking about starting current spike I have no idea ....I don't have test equipment that can do a peak/hold for that
@edshepherd32563 жыл бұрын
@@thebubba1 Yeah you put the camera down to hold the fan when you started it on high. You can see the start spike on low speed. Best video i've seen so far.

@@edshepherd3256 ....its not accurate the sample rate for those meters is to slow
@edshepherd32563 жыл бұрын
@@thebubba1 it's close enough for me. It looked like 40a at start up (on high). I was thinking of getting a 70a fan controller just to be safe.

@@edshepherd3256 ....i ran 2 of these on my 454 suburban....never even bothered to hook up the high side....with a 180 thermostat it never went above 195 sitting in traffic on a 96 degree day with ac blasting....heavy towing might require the high side though

what gauge wire did you use

Chinese 10 gauge.....but its overkill for the low side
