The other thing being why is having a balanced social life in which spending time with friends and family is looked down upon and considered as a hurdle in the so called nation's growth. This is just another way to enable filling your own coffers by exploiting the middle class.

Saddening state of work culture in India. The population isn't helping either. The attitude here is "Ghiso, gaali suno, kutte jaise mehnat karo" it is all a part of growth. There is a difference between struggle and torture, most Indian workplaces do the latter, but call it 'hustle' and 'struggle'. And hustle and struggle ke naam pe bohot lollypop beche hai telling that it's the only way up top. Also the sad part is the narrative of nation ke growth ke liye ye sab karna hai and if you don't then you're selfish and don't love your country. The concept of getting owned if you're paid should be highlighted. If they expect everyone to work like them why not pay them and provide the same kind of incentives. With that being aside why slam those ambitions on everyone else just because you have them yourself.
