LET'S PLANT!
EP 90 - How to manually pollinate echeveria flowers
Building on the skill I showed you in the last episode, which was about sowing echeveria seeds, in this episode I now show you how to pollinate flowers manually.
If you ever find yourself wanting to venture into the very fun world of creating your own hybrids, then I invite you to join my journey in this.
This is my first time pollinating echeverias so there might be more efficient ways to go about this. With that said, I'm pretty sure my method is a good starting point for my budding career in hybridising echeveria!
Perhaps someday we'll see "Cerrillo" join the likes of "Wright" in the list of well-known echeveria hybridisers!

I started cross pollinating begonias last year so I'm stoked to start others now. I know there's thousands of begonias but I thought it'd b easy to start with. I'm prepping to do it with my succies now. So exciting!!!

Very interesting video! Thanks a lot for the clear explanation! I'll do the same...but the thing is that i'm not sure if insects or bees have pollinated the flowers before I get the brush 😊

Yeah I was running into that same problem with some plants that I didn't cover. I skipped the older flowers and pollinated the younger ones thinking they haven't gotten to those yet.

I've just cross pollinated my Romeo and my Laui, curious to see what happens, a Champagneof successful (can you imagine). I'm not expecting much as I don't think I have enough experience in seed harvesting and growing from seed, but I am hoping to follow along with what you're doing and hope to have better luck this year!

Nott needed, but it helps so you can keep track which ones are pollinated.

Great video. That looks easier than I thought. Question: can a single Echeveria be pollinated with itself? I know it's a strange question because leaf propagation is so much easier, but I only have one plant flowering now and want to try it. I love growing anything from seed, and I would have some to trade, if it's even possible.

Fantastic niche channel! So glad that I've found this. It's so exciting to see all kinds of different channels to grow here on KZbin! Very educative sir, well done! Would you mind giving me some feedback too? I'd love to hear from you because I'm trying to become a better content creator myself! Thank you so much for your time, I truly appreciate it!

Hi Rico, I'm wondering how you stumbled upon my channel especially since we have very different genres haha! Anyway I had quick look at your content and I saw that you mostly do vlogs. Your video production seems to be high quality, but I haven't looked much into your storytelling. Anyway as someone who also does vlogs, disguised as how to or tutorial videos, I can tell you that growth will be steady. It could be steady slow, or steady fast, depends on how popular the topic is, or how well you do the initial social media push (to get your channel known). My main advice for a fellow vlogger is not to expect too much right away, unless you're going for controversial topics. Growth will come in a steady pace. Your graphs will be kinda linear with a few spikes. But the great thing about this is that we end up with a very strong community. People who comment and keep coming back are definitely people who care about your content.

Fantastic feedback! Thank you so much! As a matter of fact, I'm releasing my first: "how to" video while vlogging this evening haha! How I got to your channel? Easy, I'm always looking for up and coming KZbinrs. So if I see someone commenting on a different channel, I go check them out. This time it was you commenting on a video of video creators (I think)! Thank you again for taking the time to reply to me, I truly appreciate it!
