Great info Matt. I have caught more underspin bass with #2 (uphill bottom contact) than all the others combined! In stained water I’m convinced it has to do with the clatter of the blade on the bottom. This technique also works great for bank fisherman as they must fish it uphill. Appreciate all your content Matt.

That’s where the 2-3-4 a day videos come into play with a 14-18 hour drive to an from tournaments not like the name riders who have someone drive the truck and boat so they just jump a flight and on the water in and fishing in a hour.

Late winter early spring this has been my go to for years. I do the stop and go retrieve but handle turns much slower than you. I have counted it down to depth or waited until it is on bottom then started slow retrieve that I pause every few feet. Thank you for another great video.

I use basically the same retrieves as you, letting the blade tink off a rocky bottom is probably my favorite and most productive presentation. Especially this time of year, rock holds heat- so they're usually around rocky areas- I like to use a Deps Frilled Shad because it has a much more subtle action than a paddle tail- and that looks more natural this time of year. But a fluke works pretty well to- I just want something with very tight, subtle action. The MB spark shad is another winner this time of year- for the same reasons. Throw it out and retrieve it so slowly that you don't think the blade is turning as much as just tinking off the rocks- they tear it up.

Matt, if you’ve done a video on this I can’t find it, but when it first starts getting warm in a few months can you do a video where you fish the shallow flat bays that warm up first. You’ve talked about it in the past. I’d love to see it in action

I know I've hooked many bass (and other species as well) on the marabou road runners, the OG underspin, while fishing for crappie and white bass. They did so well that I bought larger ones and had success on schoolies. I am very fortunate now to have good quality underspins, as those commonly available at that time sucked for quality. I'm so happy you got a good one that way!
@joebee145910 ай бұрын
My favorite winter technique was an under spin with the berkley havok the jerk. I've only got a couple bags left though so if you happen to have any in green pumpkin or white you want to send my way that would be great. 😂

Never really fished them that much, but I will start trying it out. And that crawfish comment on the second retrieve got me thinking. To cold today the rod will just freez but heading out tomorrow on the local river, and will at least lock it in for an hour or two. And as a person that kinda lives in the north it's nice when coldwater tips actually include coldwater. xD As always, appreciate your knowledge and resilience. Big ups and have a good one. :)

Matt are the dime cranks silent or do they rattle?👍👍👍👍👍
@MattStefanFishing11 ай бұрын
they have a large internal weight transfer system to increase casting distance. that weight does move some and create sound but its definably not a loud rattling crankbait with a bunch of BB's or rattles in it. I hope this helps. www.tacklewarehouse.com/Berkley_Dime_10_Crankbait/descpage-BKD.html?from=MSFG
