I have lived many years on this earth, [10 as a believer] and barely _ever_ have I memorised scripture 😞 But yesterday somebody mentioned the beginning of Psalm 23, and I realised I couldn't even recall the rest of the words of that precious Psalm, despite it being a nice easy short one. So I sat down and memorised small chunks, and after 10 minutes I had it nailed! And what's awesome is that since yesterday, I've recited it back to my own heart at least 8 times, and in those times I've experienced such depth of peace as a result. Scripture turns our eyes back to the Lord and truly delivers us in times of need! Can't wait to get started on more- thank you for your encouragement & resources 💛🙏xx

hey! i want to recommend a band called Verses. its a collaboration of Christian musicians who put God's Word to music. it's literally just scripture as the lyrics and the songs help me to memorise it. when you talked about psalm 23, i tried to recount it in my head but started to forget, then i sang the song in my head and the lyrics came naturally. it's a great way to memorise scripture :)

I am thankful I spend more time reading and studying God's word than scrolling on social media. On judgment day, I want my screen time to state I spent less time on all social media platforms because I spent more time getting to know God through his Word, prayer, and consistent serving of my time in God's house. Alongside memorizing Scripture and daily Bible study, I like to have my Bibles open in order to read the Bible throughout the day and listen to the audio Bible in order for my ears to listen to God's word. I will definitely do the 13-week Bible Memory Challenge!

Hi Becca! Great video, it was really encouraging and it's awesome to know we have sisters in Christ around the world seeking to know the Lord and love Him more daily. Excellent comment about how we must not value entertainment more than the Word of God. I've been finding it so easy to choose to scroll through Instagram instead of going to the Scriptures, and every time it leaves me unsatisfied because I know that my soul is not being fed by social media. Lots of social media accounts are really educational and edifying, but they cannot take the place of the Word of God, and this video was a much needed reminder to GO TO THE WORD. Great Video. A tip I can share that I do to help me memorize scripture is pick a verse and set it as your phones Lock Screen, that way every time you look at your phone to check the time etc you’re seeing it and reading it. You can use different Bible apps or your phones editing tool to add words over any image, that way you don’t have to give up your family photo etc as a screensaver.

I highly encourage people to incorporate more structure into their lives as well as adopting the mentality of treating oneself like someone that they are responsible for taking care of. I read The Bible (nearly) every morning before leaving home for work. We make time for the things we want to do! Ever since prioritizing my health, mental, physical, emotional and spiritual, I’ve noticed such a huge change in my overall well-being. Waking up earlier than necessary allows you so much more free time each day to pursue a multitude of needs and desires. Such as exercise, writing, reading The Bible or books in general, preparing healthier meals, etc. Also, learning about human psychology, behavior and neuroscience has given me a better understanding of what makes me tick and has also really helped me in my walk as well. I got started with one word! “ Calamity “ yep I saw it in my Bible ! I was amazed! And it lead me to go page by page and find the word and before I knew. It I was hooked and Ive been in each book of the Bible and now I’m reading the Bible all the way through this year.

The way to go Girl !! I’m trying to get others to read the Word God weather they understand it or not ! The scripture says we are begotten by the word I tell them it’s a lot like poison ivy the more you are exposed to it the more you get it !! Im In my 70s my mind is not as sharp as it use to be ! I still read bunches some books 4 or 5 times in a row! Have noticed it is hard to fellowship with someone who doesn’t read the scripture. Wow the WORD OF GOD IS ALIVE !!! It’s so rich and pure !!! Can’t sit down and read the Bible all the way through way too much hydroplaning way too many nuggets over looked ! Wow Girl. I am happy for you ! Amen praise God, I'm glad I see this video because what God put on my heart everyday is to read chapters or verses from the bible and I pray we all can do this, memorizing God's words are good to do even Jesus memorized the word of God ( Matthew 4) and we need to walk in His ways. memorizing and spending time with Jesus in His words is the best we can ever do because we'll grow more in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and grow in wisdom and instruction and understanding in His words, Holy Spirit help us to have a heart that grows more in love with you and with your words in Jesus name Amen 🙏🏽

There is an app called memorize by heart where you can paste text you want to memorize like a ch of scripture then familiarize yourself with it in a few ways like tapping verse by verse then choose a game like typing the first letter of each word or do multiple-choice word by word!

I can relate to this. I have actually spent a year reading the Bible cover to cover several years ago because I was told it would be transformative. I stuck it out, looked into context and at different translations, prayed, believed, followed a study plan created by my church and I still have to say I often felt confused or angry reading the Bible. Parts of it I found amazing and uplifting but a lot seemed irrelevant and confusing. Especially all the parts about harsh law, wars, death, plagues, conquests, rape etc (some of those being in the name of God and some not). Not light reading and definitely not easy to interpret!

Jesus, by definition, is the Word of God. John 1:1. In addition, 2 Timothy 3:16,17 says all scripture is given by God's inspiration.. To reject the authority of God's word is to reject God.

As I seek God through his word it is apparent reading the Bible is not enough. It is not his perfect word. Maybe it eas perfect when first written but with all the man made translations, it has become corrupted by man's bias and evil purposes. To truly understand the bible you need to study in depth and understand the people and culture that wrote it. Seek peoples different interpretations with an open mind and let the spirit lead you. Vast majority of preachers and religions out there do not do this. They regurgitate what was taught by their preacher or same bible colleges teach. Catholic church has largely corrupted his word over he years for its own benefits. This is obvious. Endulgences anyone? Just my 2 cents

The God Culture you will be able to watch some good video. 99 % of so called Christians will not read there bibles or believe in what is written. They go by what preachers tell them .
