Ahh, one of my personal favorite K’nex sets those years ago. The Big Ball Factory was one I kept modifying over and over. Made it taller and more complex than what the instructions showed me. I was 8 when that set first appeared and as I got a little older decided to make it bigger and better (by using the old K’nex carrying cases that had additional pieces for me to work with). Good times.

Those K'nex commercials always stressed me out as a kid. I remember getting one for Christmas and I couldn't figure out how to put it together (I was 10), and it was advertised like kids my age could assemble it with ease; maybe I was slow growing up or something, lol.

I got the Big Ball Factory the Christmas it came out, I had it built within a day or two all alone at 9 years old

I got that Big Ball Factory set when I turned 8 and I mastered it easy. With all the K’Nex pieces I had from past sets like the carrying cases, I started to modify it differently by making it taller and wider than what was shown in the instructions.

Read the childrens book "Leo the Late Bloomer". That's me. Only, it took me nearly 35 years... No really that's me, I am a leo, born in the year of the tiger. Late bloomers eventually excel past the normals. It's like we get a tank of NOS and eventually we find out where the button is...
