I've barely scratched the surface of the 1990's volumes, but this is one of the best so far IMHO. 0:00--It may not have the staying power of "Plop-plop, fizz-fizz; oh, what a relief it is," but I agree that this is a great jingle for Alka-Seltzer. 0:29--Some great classic comedies! 1:10--The music in the Ford commercial could be considered one of classical music's "one-hit wonders"--"Canon in D" by Johann Pachelbel. 1:40--Wow; a 90's Miller Lite commercial based on a 60's hit! "I Like It Like That" was a hit in 2 different versions in the 60's, by both Chris Kenner and the Dave Clark Five. Incidentally, these commercials aired 4 days after I reached legal drinking age.

One interesting thing to me in watching all these old commercials is how plain product packaging was. These days everything is all jazzed up and EXTREME when they used to be no-nonsense and to the point.

The Southwest Robber? If I ever ended up with such an uninspired nickname in the news, I'd turn myself in just to end it. Gotta have a hook to make crime pay, like The Miller Lite Mauler or The Healthy Choice Spaghetti Strangler.

It's one in the morning, I've got a half a pack of cigarettes, a cup of hot coffee, and a bad case of insomnia. LET'S WATCH SOME COMMERCIALS.

first commercial, goddamn! i sooooo remember that! and with all the jingle related commercials, mine were the spots for local radio in the area, because at some point in time, if they had jingles ordered for on-air use, they'd play on the promo, take KUZZ country 107.9 in this area, lot of cuts from Jam in Dallas.

That promo is Gaylen Young, he was one of the longest running anchors at KGET in Bakersfield, sadly though he was laid off from KGET in 2007 after a very offending contract offer that he later refused. He's now at KBAK CBS in Bakersfield.

Is that Paul Rudd at 01:55? Is that Gaylen Young crumpling the script into a frustrated little ball at 04:52? Also, I'm having trouble remembering a more stupid slogan than "taste them again for the first time."

Mann & Machine lasted all of 9 episodes, of which the last 5 were burned off during the summer. From what I remember, it was pretty lame. I've never understood the point of non-alcoholic beer. I don't like beer much to begin with, so the only reason I'd ever drink it was to get drunk (mind you, this was in college). If I just wanted liquid to drink, there's water or a soft drink. Did people in L.A. (or near L.A.) really enjoy watching L.A. get reduced to rubble?
