Oh man, the memories in this volume! I haven’t heard the theme to “Mr. Wizard’s World” in ages. It used to come on early in the morning.

First day of school of 1991. That means I would be going into 8th grade. Brings up memories of hanging out in the arcade with friends, messing around on my family's new computer, and dreaming of the just-released Super Nintendo, which I would get that Christmas. School didn't go that great for me that year (lots of bullying), but outside of that, some good memories.

In the late 90´s we had orienteering in p. e. class in junior high and the only thing we found in the bushes was a thighmaster and were very amused

15 years ago this month, they closed down Nickelodeon Studios Florida (on the 13th anniversary of the time capsule burial). Some bastard even dismantled the fountain too :(

Oh, I remember seeing the Thighmaster commercial on Nick when I was about three or four. I'm now thinking about the impact it probably had on my young mind...

Thighmaster-later followed by the Buttmaster :D Mcdonalds-Ronald later told them that their parents were tragically killed in a auto accident.. Bubble Yum-Leo before he was crowned King Of The World Trapper Keeper-loved that dramatic description at @6:43 "Aliens..RANSACKED my room!!" Nick Station ID-the announcer must have passed out due to inhaling all the toxic fumes from the Nickelodeon Studios fountain in the last promo..

In September of 1991, this would have been around the time Leonardo DiCaprio started his run on the final season of Growing Pains.

in the very beginning of this clip, the monster speaking french, i think they used some of that audio in Kubricks Eye's Wide Shut. Sounds extremely similar. I actually thought it was a clip from eyes wide shut when i first heard it.

For some idiotic reason, the animated nickelodeon ID bumper at 7:05 scared the holy hell out of me when I was a kid. I don’t know why it did, but it managed to do so.

None of these sort of "collectors items" advertised in the 80's/90's ever really appreciated in value (especially stuff from the Franklin Mint). Though I think the general idea at the time was that you could theoretically resell the plates that were out of production to other people who were also collecting the series and make some sort of profit.

@@80sCommercialVault it might have worked of they didn't produce so many. When you know someone brought it for $30 on TV, why would anyone value it any higher?

I wonder what the name of the narrator is during the Nick News You Can Use segments. He also spoke over the end credits of shows about upcoming programming. I've searched but came up with other Nick announcers who clearly aren't him
