A short vid showing the build up of the New Zealand made Tuatahi Camp Axe on an Aussie made Engineered For Axemen race handle, with a custom leather sheath.
Axe specs- head approx. 1.5kg/3.5lb, handle 750mm/30inch hickory. Finished length approx 710mm/28.5inch.
Apart from the amazing design, one of the best things about this axe head is that it comes ready to use straight out of the box- no grinding, filing, or even stropping is needed. Razor sharp, perfect geometry and ready to go. I've gotta give em top marks for the packing job too.
Cheers for watching, stay safe

@@Fogyt121 sweet. The high toe is one thing to be wary of with the camp axe. The long edge and curve work well when the logs off the ground, but it's taken a bit of damage when cutting bottom wood.

Kurt can I ask why you didn't order the camp axe with a 28" handle from Tuatahi?
@kurts64
@kurts64 Жыл бұрын
Gday mate, at the time the camp axe was only available with the smaller stock handle, which was I think 60cm/24inch. The longer tuatahi model was listed as a full size 80cm/32inch which I think is too long, so I went with the EFA 75 and took it down to about 71. I do think now though that Tui does offer the camp on the 70/28 as an option. Cheers mate👍👍🪓
