I got myself a China head from Tuatahi and was just as impressed with it. I can only imagine what feelings a finished head from them will evoke.

Thanks for watching man. I was kicking myself later I should have got a China head to go along with this one, they seem like a great option. This camp axe though, sliced through that wax paper like it wasn't there, so nice to be able to buy a head that's good to go. How did you grind your China?

@@kurts64 Narrow chisel at about 20 degrees and I clipped a bit from the toe and heel of the bit. I use it close to the ground on dry/dirty/gnarly wood and I can't risk chipping them off.

@@Fogyt121 sweet. The high toe is one thing to be wary of with the camp axe. The long edge and curve work well when the logs off the ground, but it's taken a bit of damage when cutting bottom wood.

@@kurts64 yes you are completely right. I need one. I got my tuatahi camp axe 4 months and just love it. The stock handle is nice and the length still works for small tasks. But I ll def get a second one one day.

I am rather nervous to hang it honestly. I have never done it before. I m so worried that I might screwup. I gonna be chopping some random wood in the tropical forest. They medium to hard wood usually. Am not good with identifying the type of trees.

@@donpoo9098 don't worry just take your time. The Tui eye shape is pretty precise and well shaped, so it's fairly trouble-free compared to some axes. Where abouts are you?

Kurt can I ask why you didn't order the camp axe with a 28" handle from Tuatahi?

Gday mate, at the time the camp axe was only available with the smaller stock handle, which was I think 60cm/24inch. The longer tuatahi model was listed as a full size 80cm/32inch which I think is too long, so I went with the EFA 75 and took it down to about 71. I do think now though that Tui does offer the camp on the 70/28 as an option. Cheers mate👍👍🪓

G'day mate, this was the 3/4 sized handle, 750mm. They have a fairly long eye and large palm swell so you have a bit of scope to shorten it right down if you want. Thanks man!
