My time in range for 90 days is 97%. I used both tandem X2 and now lately Omnipod 5. It’s possible. Myself I’m a type 1 diabetic for 31 years. A1C between 4.8-5.3. Keep up the great work. Your video’s really help with me adjusting to the Omnipod 5

I'm already a G6 user, and my doctor's upgrading me from the dash to the Omnipod 5. Can't wait. ... It seems like this combo would be perfect for those who just won't self-manage. If you can at least keep working devices on your body, it's going to regulate your insulin ... though the actions will always lag, if you're not inputting carbs.

I contacted customer service after my daughter's controller would not connect and after a long wait, I left a message for them to call back. The message I got was that they would call back in 2 or 3 days, but I never heard from them. After trying a second time to get thru, I left a message again after the 2 or 3 days phone message, I never heard back. I had one reprensentative email me but nothing really happened. After my daughter went into DKA and ended up in the hospital, the reps at the hospital got me some help from Jennie Edwards. She made an appointment with me to do a Zoom meeting to help set up the equipment. The appointment is on November 30. I made that appointment on November 18! At least I have some interaction. Time will tell if we ever get the thing to work. Good luck with yours!

First I want to start by saying that I am sorry and a bit angry about what you have had to encounter because of a lack of better customer care from Omnipod 5. I empathize with your situation and hope your daughter is doing well. I just don't understand how corporations this large can do so well in their technology yet so poorly in simple communication and service. I've been on this device for about 3 months now and have really grown to love it. Yet it was rough and very disappointing initially; it has become quite useful. My barometer when measuring how well a medical device like this works is by measuring the amount of time I have to worry about its reliability. I can honestly say that lately I never think about it. I truly hope that @Omnipod calls you back soon and makes this right for you. In my opinion, if you can get this device dialed in, it will benefit your daughter immensely. Thank you for the comments and good luck.

When you do the post meal exercise do you put the OmniPod into Activity mode?

Great question! I only utilize this feature during long workouts. I am actually dropping a video this Saturday that explains the best way to use the feature and my experiences using it.

Question I just started on the pod today and for whatever reason it doesn’t seem to be responding well.. I haven’t been below 260 all day and my sugars go down for a few minutes before climbing back up. I tried a correction bolis and waiting through the 1 hour time but it’s getting hella annoying at this point an I’m ready to just toss them.. so far this is probably the worst $650 I’ve spent

My first week was horrible as well. I've been told that the pod needs around 48 hours to learn an algorithm for your total daily insulin needs. If you can be patient, it's worth it, but if you just want it to work as it should, you can always switch to manual mode and tell it what to do for you. This way, you will see immediate results without having to wait for it to learn you.

@@typ3me I tried manual mode but it was still high and even when I added bolis nothing changed until I added a few more and tweaked a few settings and I heard it prime and it started working more reliably so maybe it was just partially clogged? Also Thanks for the reply sucks the first week was horrible but I think you’re right with being patient, sucks blood sugars can’t be patient too though lol

Wow, this is impressive and inspirational. Thanks for sharing. It's possible that I misinterpreted your graph, but how do you get your steady lines below 110 mg/dL? I have the Omnipod 5 too and can only get my target down to 110.
@typ3me

Hi Dan thank you for the comment. You are correct the omnipod 5 will automate you to set a target range of 110. But I have been able to get below this number via exercise and meal time prebolus for meals.

Guys be careful Bc if you are low carb and do IF the program doesn’t work. The logic for the pod is that it assumes there is a 50/50 split between basal and bolus. My natural split is 65/35. The pod started cutting basal rate so much my BGs flew up up and away! I switch to manual. In manual or automatic IOB includes your basal insulin. So I’d do a correction and I keep doing corrections finally over bolus to get under 130. This automation the manner available now may not be optimal for everyone. I’m on manual AIC 6.3 and TDI is 20 units or less. I eat a keto diet and fast for 20 hours. Feel great expect A1C under by beginning of next year.
