Dexcom just released G7 in Australia. But sadly, the direct to watch feature is not enabled for the Australian market. This has been a great video, hoping I can do this one day soon.

Wearable widget no longer available for newer devices - not for note 20 5g. I have blose but can't figure out the share/follow app credentials. I'm following myself on the follow/ share app on my phone but that's not doing me any good after accepting the invite i sent to my other email. I'm stuck after seeing too the g watch app

Plus never discount a low reading, if in doubt do a finger prick test and treat accordingly. Before FGM and CGM it was a complete unknown to what was happening with glucose levels during sleep.

That is why the Libre goes on the back of the arm. Unless someone is a contortionist and sleeps on top of the arm, then no compression happens.

My understanding is that there is a delay where blood glucose levels in the blood take time to show up in the fluid beneath the skin on which non-invasive CGMs rely. This is why the watch in the video "lagged" behind the cappilary blood glucose monitor, showing reading that were the case a while ago as opposed to the test time. . It just takes time for the changes in the blood glucose level to show up in that subcutanuous fluid.
@typ3me

Correct. The watch in the video reading the cgm numbers was only for reference. To test accuracy the non invasive watch was compared to the actual BG. Unfortunately the non invasive watch and the BG readings were very far off.

"Type One Talks" channel actually did a review on some Asian lower budget watches that claim to already be able to do this. He showed how inaccurate they are during a spike in blood sugar and also during a low blood sugar. If the wearer doesn't spike too high or low, the watch is more accurate but during huge blood sugar swings, it can't keep up with the measurements. Unfortunately, it is too risky for a real T1 to measure their BG and administer insulin based on these readings.

I find the direct-to-watch feature a little buggy. The process of connecting to the watch takes a long time. To make it worse, I alternately use 2 watches so I have to disconnect and repeat the process for the other watch. At this point, carrying the G7 receiver (or iPhone) is less hassle. Just a bit disappointing.
@typ3me

That's interesting . Why do you carry 2 watches?

@@typ3me I always forget to charge the Apple watch. To make it easy on myself, one watch is always charging while I wear one so I just swap watches when needed. Nothing irritates me more than a dead Apple Watch when I'm out and about.

I use a cheap iphone se 3rd to Connect to Apple Direct to watch on iwatch se 2nd gen. Then I shut off my iphone, wait 10 minutes, and then connect the g7 to android phone, so I can use xdrip+ So I essentially have 2 live independent connections to my cgm when I have both phone and watch with me... Perfect situation for when one randomly disconnects. But my only problem with direct to watch is when I go running ( with my android phone and iwatch) and play my podcasts on my android phone with a bluetooth speaker, (I don't like headphones) the bluetooth speaker interferes with Apple watch G7 Direct to watch connection and it the cgm disconnects. Is it possible the bluetooth pods are the culprit? Great Videos By the way. I love your channel!!!

Thank you for this tutorial. I got this to work on my Galaxy Watch Ultra with my Dexcom G7. Also I am not using the Blose watch face. You can put your glucose readings on other watch faces as a complication if you just want to see the basic reading while using other watch faces. In addition you can now configure the Blose watch face in the wear app now.

it is faking the measurements. There is a simple software in the watch that generates the fake glucose readings. some of the watches even ask you if you had a meal and when, so it can fake the number better. it is a crime. it even ask you the calibrate the device by telling it the real glucose reading...

Not possible…you need to have a sensor and transmitter to measure an accurate Blood Glucose. Apple also had mentioned a few years ago by doing a retina scan to measure Blood Glucose. Steve Jobs waited too long and lost his life due to procrastination.

Lots of money to be made in this industry, and I used Libre2 for monitoring until I got this watch... This watch is great for many but perhaps not for all people... It tells you when blood sugar is rising or falling, and it is a good indicator to be careful for those who are prediabetic. If you're not on medication or insulin and your pancreas isn't completely worn out, this gives a good indication where your blood sugar is at. Friend had libre2 sensor on and tried my watch at the same time: fluctuations where same frequency but off by about 0.2 points or so. That's close enough to be trustworthy for me... If you can't produce your own insulin, or your medication/insulin shots can cause rapid and huge changes in blood sugar, this is definitely not for you. Also, keep in mind different skin color might affect accuracy of readings

Also know that if you are wearing a CGM and your Bluetooth receiver or phone is receiving info and another person is nearby and trying to set up their CGM while in the room near you, their CGM may fail because it gets confused on which phone to attach to. HAD this happen! Sensor had to be removed and tossed.

Hi just love all your content. This video really hit home as I was diagnosed type 2 at 18 I am now 47. Sugars were never good. I took meds here and there. Living on bs 400 and 500/ Got pregnant at 28 then doctors were worried about my dibetes. Was hospitalized to get me on insulin regimine. I don't remember what year it was but I got diagnosed with type 1. Then was able to get the medtronic pump. I am now on Dexcom g6 and omnipod 5. I am due for phone upgrade. Been samsung for years but watching your videos i remember you talking bout apple being so close to watches taking bs without blood. I got the s24 but it is saying not compatible with omnipod. I believe if apple would be better option i can trade. I would love your input!

Regarding Wear OS 5. Blose 1.x shown in the video isn't compatible with it. There's a new version, 2.x compatible with that version. Wear OS 5 does however not allow watch faces to run any code, so Blose has been split into two parts. Blose will just be an app that provides complications, and then there id Blose watch face, also available on Google play.

Thank you for sharing, we have been using such a device for some time. But it is only now that I realized that Apple Computer/Steve Jobs already have that ideal years ago. While up to now, it is proven that non-invasive is not as accurate as the traditional finger pricking routine. We still use it heavily/daily because the results is precise enough for us to lessen our dependency on finger pricking to around once or twice a week. Hopefully Apple would make it even more precise in the near future.
