Resident teenager-who-wears-vintage here! I’ve found that wearing vintage at school and going out has been really positive. People compliment you, and my god do my friends love the red lipstick I wear! If your worried about people being mean about your style, just pick your favorite vintage outfit and wear it out. Then you’ll be at your most confident for your first “adventure” out in vintage.

Back in high school many people used to compliment me too! Many people also used to trash-talk about me saying I was a "stoner hippie loser", even though it upset me I never really cared about it, because months later the same people that called me like that copied my style

I wore vintage in high school 1981-84. We had tons of vintage shops in my neighborhood Melrose Ave. in Los Angeles. I wasn’t a punk rocker but a more of a rockabilly type or wearing men style suits. I still wear vintage now at 55 years old

@@Pureimagination200 my mother was young in the '70s (she's 63 now), so I have some of the clothes she wore at the time and I think I'm lucky because I live in a small city in Italy and I don't have a decent vintage/second hand shop here. There is one, but it sells only vintage pieces from haute couture brands (Prada,Gucci, Ralph Lauren...) and the prices are insane

(I had thought it started with millenials and/or Gen X. But I think the 80s not as many people were into it as now, possibly because social media didn't exist and it wasnt promoted in mainstream media.)

Just recently found you. About the 1st moon walk, not only did I watch it on TV when I was 11 years old I can never forget it. My dad was so excited about it that as soon as Neil Armstrong stepped onto the surface, my dad grabbed my hand and we ran out into the yard. He pointed up at the moon and said, "just imagine kid, they are up there right now walking on that very moon. It's one of my fondest memories. Thanks for bring it back to my mind.

I love your choices of movies! I was named after the song "Laura" from the movie! It of course is a favorite. My parents met in 1943 at a USO dance and were married 5 years later after the war. They are both gone now and I miss them very much. My sisters and I all have first and middle names of old songs. My middle name is Louise....Every little breeze seems to whisper Louise...the most wonderful music. I'm so happy for your 90K subscriptions. I love your channel so much!

Congrats on 90k! I have always loved the fashions of the 40's and 50's. I'm not from that time but my mom was a teen and later married in the 1950's. I'm a die hard classic movie buff! "Laura" is also one of my favorite old movies and it's so funny that you mentioned it because it's not really well known, even by black and white movie standards. I'm just obsessed with Gene Tierney and in my opinion, she was one of the most beautiful women, ever. One old movie that I think you might really enjoy is "The Harvey Girls" with Judy Garland and it's one of my favorites. The clothes are so bright, beautiful and wonderful to look at and of course the music is wonderful as well. My Mom raised my sister and I on old Black and White movies and TV shows and I'm so grateful that she did.

Gosh I feel old! I watched the moon landing with my family. I remember it was in the middle of the night or early morning because we kids were all in our pjs! 😜 My best friend Laura in California was named for your fav movie. PS: I’m a retired nurse, so congrats on your career choice. My fav area I worked was the OR. I was trained as a surgery nurse in the army.

I was talking to a friend who complicated me on my 40's outfit.They asked if I had thought about keeping the style or changing, I joked and said I am doing 40's for my 40's maybe I should see what 50's in my 50's, 60's in my 60's and laughed out loud when I imagined myself doing the 90's in my 90's🤣😂🤣

Congrats on 90K! Very well deserved! A tip from a natural curly girl on preserving your curls at night: silk or satin bonnet. I find satin to be too hot so I went with a silk one. Plenty available on Amazon.

Hi, I too did nursing as a career, doing it via uni, one of the first to do it that way at Phillip Institute of technology which is now RMIT. Have now retired as my back threw a hissy fit and needed to be put back together again. I learnt to sew due to insufficient funds to buy nice clothes and presents which led me to be able to sew clothes for my twins when the interest rates were 18%. All your,beauty products were used by my grandmother and oil of ulay by myself, my mum favoured Nivea but we all used cold cream as a cleanser, I used to boil up parsley and various other ingredients to use in place of witch hazel. I loved 😊using the talc with the furry powder puff that my grandmother had in the uk. I was taught to bake from my grandmother and cook from my mum. I always remember Saturday was baking day to last the week things like custard tart, cup cakes, lemon drizzle cake and the must have Victoria sponge dusted with icing sugar or frosting with smarties if it was a birthday cake. My mum made me one with the number 50 on and that meant the world to me. I could cook for a dinner party by the age of 12. My favourite pastime apart from embroidery and quilting is op shopping, I’m very vintage in age and tastes. I need a marquee to fit me so I go for beautiful crockery, fabric, anything old and sparkly, here in Melbourne we have a multitude of op shops and I do love a good op shop crawl. I ended up being a palliative care nurse which I thoroughly enjoyed. I love your posts and that vintage wallpaper in your kitchen is absolutely gorgeous! Please keep posting the vlogs I look forward to viewing them.

Modcloth is GREAT for plus sizes. It's pricey, but they sometimes have specials and clearance prices for a product they don't plan to restock, it's how I found my best dress for $30 USD.
