As a GP I can say that the practice nurse is an irreplaceable gem. Working in a team with generations of families is extremely rewarding (and stressful), but we support each other. Anyway, there are so many options open to you❤❤❤

When my baby was in the NICU for 2 1/2 months after his birth, the nurses were actual angels. They took such good care of him and of our entire family actually. Nurses work so hard with so little appreciation. They bring warmth and comfort.

As a fellow new grad nurse who dresses in vintage style, I just started in a med surg unit. The most rewarding part for me is taking care of the elderly population and hearing their life stories. I think you will love it. Some tips to incorporate more of your vintage style into nursing is to get neutral color scrubs. I also sometimes wear a cardigan with mine, (it's one that I don't mind getting dirty). It helps give off a more calm vibe.

One of my kids is disabled, and her and I spend quite a lot of time in the hospital, both for regular appointments and surgeries/admissions. Chatting with the nurses ABSOLUTELY makes our stay better and brightens our time while there. Keep bringing that sunshine to your patients. It makes such a difference! ❤

Sage, First, congratulations on finishing that last nursing submission! Hearing you say you had a happy dance made me remember that moment way back in the 80s, back when dinosaurs still roamed the earth! I loved my nursing career, found my niche in critical care and trauma emergency. Enjoyed it so very much and hope one day you will look back and find that you have loved your career choice too. Family is important and while being at the University, in the city, you and James were still able to live in Granny’s home and it had a country vibe to it as opposed to a high rise tower apartment. Looking forward to all your future visits with us, the move, the new remodels, your nursing start up(how exciting), and the wedding! So much to share with us. We are so blessed.
