Let us know your Daisy Chainsaw / Queenadreena memories? COMMENT BELOW

I saw The Word performance and had the ‘Love Sick Pleasure’ cassette, and then one day bunked off school and took the train into London to go and mooch around Camden and bought ‘Eleventeen’ on CD. I can’t remember the name of the shop.. (On the left, just before the bridge). Sadly, I was a bit young to see the madness of the gigs. (I was 12, maybe 13 when Daisy Chainsaw was all going on).

My favourite guitarist, sublime and divine, - tone, playing, style, distortions.., - everything. - I'm not big into guitars, but been into heavy, dark electronica/dub/post-punk since the mid 80s, and I have a large collection of old/new synthesisers, samplers, drum machines, outboard, - but I've been addicted to Crispin's sound ever since I heard Eleventeen at a friends house after a night out clubbing and drugging in North London. I think I have everything he's ever done, Daisy/Dizzy Q/Queen Adreena, etc, love the new album and the Starsha Lee album, - Post God Metaphysics, - is an all time favourite too. - god bless

First time I saw Daisy Chainsaw was at Happy Jax on Crucifix Lane and they blew my mind. I met Katie Jane in the loos at the Dome not long after - she was warming up before the show, seemed really shy which I remember thinking was endearing and just made me love them more.

I grew up near the Garsides in a tiny cluster of English villages and Crispin was a role model to me for my teen years, and later, part of the scene in which I mingled, putting on gigs etc. culminating in me hosting Queenadreena at KoKo. In fact, Crispin still has one of my blouses...peach frilly chiffon...from a session playing Bowie vinyls and dressing up. I live abroad now, but loved seeing you here doll! Cat x

Loved every minute of this interview......what spot on fella Crispin Gray is! Saw Daisy Chainsaw at the ULU in 1992 with Sheep On Drugs supporting. Don't remember much of the gig do remember an edgy excitable vibe! Was in a fanzine with my mate, we used to write off to various people! I Wrote to Crispin in 1991 and he replied in hand written (same type as DC text on their releases). Had it for years then vannished! Used to hang out with Richard Adams a fair bit a few years ago, we once went Raving to Laurent Garnier with J from Five.....another story to be told!

I saw Queenadreena supporting Bush at the Hammersmith Palais March 1st 2000. They were really good in sound n sight.. Still got the ticket and they never took the stub off it on the way in. It was one of those days/nights that just went perfect . Absolutely out of it on performance enhancers, smoking the good stuff in the corner at the back along with a few other indulgers ( Couldn’t do that stuff now , we had it good ) Still remember the girl I was chatting to, Gemma from Bromley.. We lived it..

Loved it, thanks guys... enjoyed that one a lot. It wasn't mentioned in the conversation as a band they played with, but I saw Daisy Chainsaw supporting Carter USM! 10th Feb 1991 at South Parade Pier (Southsea) I don't remember that much about the gig to be honest but I remember it being loud and pretty shambolic in a good way. My girlfriend at the time had the t-shirt (black with that original logo in white, where the 'D' has ears and 'C' has teeth) I'm sure I saw them again somewhere else a bit later but I might not have, it's a bit blurry (.. and no I wasn't on heroin Dave! 😂) it's just a long time ago. 😛

Never saw Daisy Chainsaw as they were already gone by the time I was out at gigs on the regular, but I did get to see Queenadreena a number of times in London and at a disappointingly sparsely attended gig at the Fez club in Reading., fair play to them though, the size of audience didn’t make a difference to the intensity of the performance which was always operating at 11. I note that Silverfish came up in the interview and Miss Rankine would be an excellent guest for the podcast as her musical output in silverfish, Ruby and as a member of Pigface definitely should be given more attention.

I had a job when I was 21 in HMV in the stockroom, I was there a few months while I looked for another more secure job. Vince Johnson was a team leader in the stock room, nice guy Vince from what I remember. One day the chainsaw lot rocked up and they were working there, I found gray really scary and aloof. He had the ginger hair and the 1960s female makeup on. Garside was there as well, there was a horrible musty smell of her, like she had been sleeping rough in a damp house, she was wearing it must have been a baby doll nightdress, again aloof and odd. I found them sinister, I had forgotten about them until someone mentioned them and I came here. Don’t like them.
