Oh hell yes! I was mostly into grunge and indie rock in the 90s so I missed whatever was happening in electronic music. You make it seem like I missed some great music! Love this. Thanks Marshal!

Yo yo Tim! Thanks man! Yeah funny thing is I was into Grunge and Ska in the '90s.. I got into Trance and techno around Y2k...but went back and found awesome Trance before the JP8000 (king of supersaws) and really liked it. Most my modern tunes still have a bit of a vintage '90s flare I think but this was like full on let's make some '90s shiz lol. Thanks for listening brotha 😃👋

@@MarshalArnold Me too, I've been making two trance tracks so far, but still have a lot to learn. Could you make a breakdown video on this track for me to learn? I'm looking for my first he synth to buy. Is Virus TI 2 still a good choice or should I buy a Kyra instead? If you've been using Roland Cloud, I could imagine Roland System 8 with Plugouts to be a good choice as well. I'm a bit lost in options... could you give me good advice maybe? I love supersaw/hypersaw sounds for all genres I make, such as chillout etc. as well. I'm also into synthpop and darkwave, from which I know, Virus was used a lot as well. I'm just a lil scared of software support. The device is many years old and it seems to have issues to deal with modern Mac OS versions. Needs Virus HC Editor 3rd party stuff etc, gives me a bad feeling for that price. I'd like to record nice analogous, warm sounding parts in my DAW and also offload processing power to the external DSP in the synth. I know Virus can do that, the Kyra too? Thanks a lot and great track!

Sure, Kyra is one of my favorite synths, it has some similarities with the Virus TI2, but the diverge quite a bit in other ways. I would not let lack of support for the official Access plug in stop you from picking up a Virus, you can always use a MIDI to USB dongle to connect to a PC and either program from the front panel or use a 3rd party editor. You'll lose USB audio, but the Virus has 3 stereo pairs (or 6 mono) outputs. It's also been around for years, lots of excellent user groups and patch banks so that's nice. Still worth every penny, especially if you snag a used one in good condition. Kyra is newer and offers audio over USB and also has multiple analog audio outputs, but no official editor from Waldorf. I think though the front panel is better than the Virus TI2, but the menus, some folks aren't a fan of, but a couple of hours with the manual and your hands on it and it'll make sense. Biggest thing between these is that the Virus TI2 is DSP based, while Kyra is FPGA, there is, in my opinion, a destinct difference in the way these synths sound. Try to find demos of both on KZbin or go to a music shop and see if you can play on one or both to make a decision. I think both are great, and either will be a good choice, especially for Trance. Hope that helps!
Yo, Inky!! Thank you so much! Happy to finally get this out. It's been done since July 2019 🙄😅

The side of the 90s I missed...catching up now ;) What Cloud plugins did you use on this?
@MarshalArnold3 жыл бұрын
Oh you're in for a treat, some excellent music made in the mid to late 90s in this style for sure, also some wonderful Drum & Bass during that time :) This tune has actually been finished since July 2019.. I cracked it open and here are all the Roland Cloud Plugins used.. some instruments I used multiple times with different patches: TR-909 TR-808 TB-303 SH-2 SH-101 SRX Keyboards Promars D-50 Jupiter 8 System 8 SRX World I did a lot of work on this in live streams on this channel, if you are super bored and have nothing better to do check it out: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p4m1mahmgat-m6c Thanks for having a listen!
