"How many srcrews you want?" "All of them!" So it's time to taste the sour apple and change the battery in mine, lol. --------------------- Mission completed. The battery (2450) was stuck, was hard to force it out, but I didn't break anything, phewww.

Thanks for sharing this! My AN1x was acting up with garbled characters in the patch names, and it indeed turned out to be a low/dead battery. Your video helped me with the confidence to open up my unit. Online I am reading some problem stories that not all 2450 batteries fit. I'm glad my Energizer CR2450 fitted perfectly, although I can see how the shape is different from the original battery. The thicker side of the Energizer battery is higher (and thus the smaller side flatter) than the original one, which is where I can see that it could cause a problem. But in my AN1x the new battery snapped in without an issue. And most importantly, the synth is behaving properly again !

But yes here I am 13 years later looking up those podcasts to watch. wav met radio I believe? Get ya shit going again cause I can’t watch it anymore. This music would boom in the era we’re in. Keyboards looks great but I’m not impressed by the sound, the preset doesn’t really push the potential of the matrix engine. They should offer the way to use in easy way all the Eagan matrix patches made for the haken, then it could be a game changer. Strings are poor and artificial, it should not be with the power of the Eagan . 49 key is bad too , minimum should be 61 except if you want to use it for one hand . The software is just a labyrinth, not friendly at all and will make you lost your time if this one is precious to you. the e osmosis team also lack of communication. That a pity, this device is unique and deserve much better.

I am afraid I won't be able to resist this one 😂I was always a bit melancholic that I never got around to owning a Memory Moog as when they were being made I couldn't afford one yet, and by the time I could have afforded one they weren't being made anymore. I have never found a used one that I thought was in a state that justified the kind of money they go at nowadays. But this sounds about as good as you would hope it would be and for a price that, though perhaps not cheap by today's standards, is still incredibly affordable by what a Memory Moog would have costed then, and now.

I suppose, some of the anger towards the Muse and Moog is provoked both by recent company history and maybe also by the fact, that the hype surrounding the Muse can be rather annoying. Some are talking about a "game changer" or about Moog having revolutionized the music industry yet again. Well, they have certainly not, at least not with the Muse. But reacting to these circumstances does not do justice to the actual instrument. If you like the Moog sound and were in the market for a poly, before the Muse you did not have many options: 1. selling your house and get a Memorymoog, 2. selling part of your house and get the Moog One (which you hesitate spending money on, given the issues people complain about). Like that, the Muse is a very welcome offering, and as a design with 8 analog voices, a good keybed etc. simply is expensive to build, it seems reasonably prized (same as prophet 6 with only 6 voices and no display - I have one and love it, but well ...) Also, it is a bit nonsensical to say that Moog should have brought more innovation. This is your analog mainstream centerpiece. No one wants to buy a Moog and spend that amount of money just to have the thing sound weird. We have so many other choices for that: go buy a 3rd wave, an Iridium, the Polybrute, go modular ... you name it. Just looking at what the Muse is, you have to acknowledge, that it is a beautiful and clever design. Also in the little things that can make all the difference: that the glide knob can be easily adjusted with the left hand while playing; that the tap tempo button is just above the keybed etc. And if you think about it, Moog have innovated in a very clever way - they have delivered on their standards and core strengths (3 Osc, dual analogue filter, ring mod, overdrive), while at the same time taking the synth to the present with the sequencer and arpeggiator, which bring you into modern electronic music production territory with randomness and probability. The only real disappointment for me is that they are clearly far behind the wave when it comes to controlling the sound. Monophonic aftertouch? Really? I think, here they missed quite a few chances, and the Muse is absolutely no match for the Polybrute 12. But apart from that, it is a great synth, and I think it might become an iconic instrument.

I would like to ask a question to all those who criticise this instrument and say that Moog should have done something new: but excuse me, didn't Sequential do the same thing with the various Ob6, Ob-8x, Prophet 5, 6, 10....and yet at every video the comments are ecstatic and incredulous (it's a pity that the Matrix6 with some effects sounded better than all these "new" and expensive little machines). The only company that did something new was Arturia with the PolyB 12.... pity that the presets are horrible (and even then people comment as if they had heard something extra earthy) and who knows maybe by working on it you can get something better.... maybe.

There's a big soft orch type of pad on the Moog One too and after demoing the Moog One I saw its best use as a large pad creator as a substitute for a traditional big sampled string orch pad. This synth orch gives music a more modern sound to most ears. The Muse has this orch pad sound as heard here in the first patch.

Mine doesnt say low battery but did come up garbage letter on display what could cause that? Does the AC power being on but the switch in the off position on the unit somehow charge the battery? They are not rechargeable afaik. Did i get an electrical surge knocking out the memory eprom? I have full surge protection with emi filters. Anyway i did factory reset and back in. But still no low battery indicator. Should i replace the battery still?
@jupe_6624 күн бұрын
Yes, you should replace the battery.
@viperhd709 күн бұрын
Same thing happened to me here, and at first I feared some malfunction. It did turn out to be the battery though. Quick way to check: hold 7-8-9 when turning on the unit to do a factory reset. Then choose 9 to reset everything. You will then see the factory patches with proper names. When you turn it off and then on again, the names will be garbled again. Essentially what is happening is that the sounds are stored in RAM, which is powered by the internal battery. So if the battery goes low, the RAM can get corrupt. When turning on and doing a factory reset, you load everything from ROM into RAM and thus all data is good again, but will be corrupted again once you turn the unit off. Long Story short: just follow this video to replace the battery and everything will turn out fine ! I know as I just did :).

In my honest opinion Moog One is a real mess of a synth. This synth makes up for it. I guess a voice expander module will will be available soon.

Very nice sound - so much better than the Moog One imo. Sounds more broad and full of subtle harmonic differences from note to note. Very warm, thick and creamy and also capable of sparkly sounds. The high end frequencies sound much more clear than previous “muffled” Moogs.

I was introduced to Reason when I had my synths stolen in a burglary, so decided I’d try to go all software. So I paid a guy £20 to copy his Reason 1 installation CD on the fancy CD burner at work. I don’t think I actually bought it till the version that introduced audio (6.5?).

Good demo, sounds good, but to answer the question: Nope. For the money, go Polybrute 12 or buy two Novation Summits or two REV2 16s or three UB-XAs, Trigon or any other combination of better synths. I would even throw a Hydrasynth Deluxe (digital) in the mix. This recycling old synth nostalgia is so 2019. Why $3500 for Muse and $1900 for Matriarch. WTF. Moog Muse should be $1500-2K max, especially after the shame of Moog One.

I don’t want a Polybrute or any digital synth hardware. Buying physical hardware for a digital signal path will always be a huge waste of money because Omnisphere and other plugins exist. I use digital synths in my music, but for actual playing and for creating the building blocks of the song, I want a bassy rich analogue Moog sound so why should I buy anything but? My intermediate synth and guitar was a Moog and a Fender respectively. I looked around at other guitars and different synths but Everytime I’d get excited for one I’d try it at the store and immediately decide I don’t like it as much as I like what I had. I can’t bring myself to spend my money on anything that’s not a Fender or a Moog. It perfectly encapsulates my sonic desire.
