I love this perfomance! You can hear that they love this song and to play it is not a job, it's a passion. So they take the oppurtunity to bring this masterpiece to our world the best they can, and they do it sooo good. Love the drummer, sensitive, yet so powerful. It would be a pure bliss to hear them perform live. 🥰

They were so freakin good live. One of the best I have ever seen. When I saw them around 96 or 97, they opened with Low. Pretty ballsy considering it was really was/is their most well known song. It is like they wanted to get it out of the way to put it out of everyone's mind.

In 1993 I won concert tickets from the local college radio station. Three bands in Hershey Pa: Cracker, Gin Blossoms, with the Spin Doctors headlining. The Spin Doctors sucked (we left three songs in), Gin Blossoms killed it, but Cracker blew me away! Instantly a life long fan, and David's songwriter was a huge inspiration to my own. 30 years later, they're still going strong. Cracker rocks!
@bluebirdconundrum5 ай бұрын
Cracker should never have been on a bill with bands like that (IMO) but hey, that was the 90s. I saw Cracker at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta in the late 90s and they were super tight and clear as a live act; I was actually taken aback by how technically sound they were. They used Low as the encore for that show, and for part of the evening David Lowery played what I remember as a green and white Charvel semi-hollow that sounded incredible. And that night I also realized what a truly outstanding guitarist Johnny HIckman is. Cracker is absolutely one of the five best bands of the 90s and I think their reputation will only grow with the passage of time.
@bumfitmusic1015 ай бұрын
@bluebirdconundrum Couldn't agree more! Met Johnny and David in the lobby of the World Café early before a show. Super cool, we chatted for a little bit, and away they went. Really got into CVB because of these guys too!

The JC120 for clean or he has them both on together to give definition. I used to do that with a Mesa Boogie Mark IIb and a Lab Series L5.. What a combination. Run in stereo with a Boss CE1. The big honking metal pedal. God knows what that would be worth today. The chorus circuit in the CE-1 is the same they used in the JC120.
