Just to mention something funny. I’m 64 years old and was in my mid 30’s when this came out but at 64 I still appreciate good music. Remember that as we age we do get wiser but young at heart and mind. If we liked it at 20. 30, or 40 we’ll like it at 80.

You are correct. At just a year older than you, I'm sure you have noticed the rap....I mean crap the kids listen to these days is atrocious. These guys are not even musicians, usually at the same tempo, to a pre-recorded base line and they are making money. When music was taken out of schools is when musicians became a dying breed. Some musicians met in classical music training class and its been proven that young minds that learn how to play musical instruments are smarter than those who do not. This is why kids, Gen Z are not as brilliant as their predecessors. Other factors are to be considered, but for sure this is one of them.

This is one of the greatest songs I've ever heard and it couldn't have been created without the heroin, as tragic as that is. Lucky for me I've never been called by the poppy but I imagine the feeling I get when listening to this song, a feeling of being lulled and sinking into warm honey, seeing the sun blue and the sky brown, has some likeness.

You aren't too far off, but the context isn't "word"able... If you are 51 in the handle because of birth year, we have a Hell of a crossover. I'm a 75 raised by a 5 and a 53 but preteen and up raised by some 6 and 62/64/65's, and by raised, I mean they lifted me so I could reach the bar and finish my teenage experience all boxes checked just about the time I completed the 14th year {I got a good head start} The poppy influenced OH so much of everything we both hold in memories, sonically, from Muddy Waters era {I spent many hours at John Lee Hooker's house doing a wiring job after a fire there, just north of San Jose in Los Altos, close to where I'd be stationed later for the last 13 years flying Combat Rescue for the military till I retired in 2020. {Moffett Field, Mountain View, CA} I got to pick at HIS axe, on his couch. He asked to hear MY music, and I said I'd go get my mixtape rom the car {This was 98 or 99, and I was 24 or 25 y/o} and he followed me out and sat in the passenger seat. It was a bootleg my buddy Walkman'ed from Counting Crows, Cracker and the Spin Doctors, 93 or 94 at the Catalyst in Santa Cruz, CA. {post High School and pre-military for me} He keyed hard on "Low" He resonated and GOT it, and I knew it. I "got it" differently in each era/chapter of my own life. It's a new and different re-read each time I let years between the pressing of PLAY |>
