Very interesting opinion. Krieg in today's NFL would be awesome. He would have been enjoyable to watch no matter what era. With many of today's QBs playing "out of structure", perhaps Krieg would have fit in. Krieg would be my favorite QB if he played in today's NFL. Thanks again.

Dave Krieg was amazing man. I’m only 21 but NFL Films introduced me to him and if you look at his numbers they’re impressive. The reason why he’s forgotten is because he played in a market that isn’t like NY. Seattle rarely gets talked about. And lots of his best years were when Dan Marino, Joe Montana, etc. You always have those guys that take lots of spotlight from the media which leaves other talented guys, overlooked.

Awesome. David Krieg was a phenomenal NFL QB. 98 wins, 261 TD passes, 13 rushing TD, and a mind blowing 3 pass receptions. David was a relief pitcher for the Milton College Wildcats baseball team. Hence, the best QB ever to throw with those crazy arm angles with pinpoint accuracy!!! Great player and and a true HOF snub...

Seahawks fan since day one. Dave Krieg had his bad days and his good days. When he was off, it could be awful. When he was on, he was as good as anyone.

Dave Krieg and Neil Lomax were so criminally underrated. These QBs were tough as nails and great leaders. Dave Krieg to Steve Largent and Neil Lomax to Roy Green.

Thank you so much. I'm excited to put out more videos. That '94 season, Detroit was tough coming down the stretch. Recently, Scott Mitchell was in the news basically saying he is sick for all of the blame for DET not winning, but I wonder how many Lions fans wanted Krieg back after the 1994 season. But to be fair, Mitchell was terrific in 1995, except in the playoffs. Thanks again.

This was such an awesome video. Krieg definitely was an underrated gem having come out of Milton College. Really helped the Seahawks become competitive with Chuck Knox. And I loved his streetball way of playing the game, looking really scrappy in the pocket. Underrated arm too. I think bouncing from team to team in the 90s along with the fumbling issues kind of tainted his career. If he was playing today he'd be a quality QB for some squad in the league.

Great vid. Besides the contortions and unique throwing angles, kreig had a lightening quick release and a cannon. Kreig and largent was as exciting to watch as Montana to Rice. But maybe I'm just biased up here in the PNW.

And during those games played for Detroit .. he had a 101.7 QB rating . Also played very well for KC actually .. which people dont delve into much , but look at the numbers. Also ofcourse 3 pro bowl seasons with Seattle , etc

So many solid QBs in 90s that were shoved out because of the quest for the prototypical QB that would never pan out;, or, because the position was brutal and injuries were impossible to avoid. Jeff Hostetler comes to mind; Ken O'Brien, Steven Gerrard. I specifically remember hearing a football analyst say that the most important position in the National Football League was the backup quarterback. It was actually true -- the starter was always going to be out for at least a couple game stretch, or even knocked out in the playoffs, and there were backup QBs who actually could step in and win games, big time playoff games on the road.

An absolute magician. For a guy who didn't have the arm strength of some of his contemporaries, he could make beautiful throws from all different angles. Extremely tough, too. Took a lot of snaps, stayed in the pocket for as long as a guy could, and took a beating. I think the biggest problem for him was that he played for a lot of disappointing teams. Seattle gradually became mediocre starting in the late 80s, and the 1992 Chiefs never produced the great running game that Krieg had been brought in to complement with his elite play-action skills. That campaign was particularly tough, because even though he played very well, the Chiefs fell short of expectations and decided to bring in Joe Montana and the West Coast offense. This interrupted Krieg's status as a starter, which he showed he still deserved when backing up Montana in 93 and Mitchell in 94 in Detroit. He was rightly given another starting job in Arizona in 95, but as luck would have it, the Cardinals were a complete disaster. Just about everything that could go wrong did. Still, if you look at highlights from that season's games, Krieg was still slinging good-looking passes at 37 years old. He even showed flashes of his younger self later on in Chicago and Tennessee, where he played to the age of 40. Unfortunately, he'll probably never be in the Hall of Fame because of his lack of post season opportunity - mostly one and done Wild Card appearances.

Excellent video. Krieg deserves to be remembered & so do those cool Seahawks unis. I watched Curt Warner play on grass at Penn State. I walked down to stand close to the field on the way to my nose bleed seats when Warner broke off a 40 plus yard run up the sideline & he was finally tackled in front of me. The DBs who finally caught him paid the price & got up much slower than Warner. Dave Krieg is one of those guys who took heat when he replaced Jim Zorn but he earned Steve Largent’s respect. Also, Jim McMahon also wore gloves. Krieg was better without gloves than Kenny Pickett might ever be with gloves. 😂Finally, I remember Krieg as taking like 7 sacks from Derrick Thomas only to barely get off a pass to avoid the the 8th sack. It was the game winning TD.

When kreig and knox left seattle, the whole team became irrelevant, except in 1992, for all the wrong reasons. They wouldn't do anything until Mike holmgren arrived. Still have no idea why he isn't in the Hall of Fame

If you claim to be a 12, you aren't until you know that 😊 That said, HOT & COLD, #17 epitomized INCONSISTENCY in every season he played in Seattle except for maybe, 1984, his best year by far. The thing about him, when he was HOT, I don't care who was playing, you weren't gonna beat him, PERIOD!!! Sacked constantly, and fumbling the ball away as if it were greased piglet, Mudbone knew how to ASSAULT his opponents in a make or break fashion, the former usually outweighing the latter. Start the game, and by the end of the first 3rd down, you knew if you were going to win or not >

The only reason why Tom Flores should have released Dave Krieg in 1992 was if the Seahawks drafted Brett Favre. Even then Favre would have started out as a backup.
