Lol I thought you were older. Its so great to see the younger crowd enjoying mining for minerals. I wish my area had a higher concentration of minerals.

Nice to see two areas put together in this video. I understand the need for privacy precludes doing a big picture map of where you're finding everything. I kind of want to go back to where I grew up and go looking for minerals. I imagine ever logging road has been looked at, but every valley I think of I also bet some mountain goat of a prospector has already been there.

The way that the samples were easily removed by hand in the big adit, I would have thought that it might have been more unstable. Obviously not. Nice video.

Another great video. Is there a visible difference between quartz and carbonate quartz? Is quartz carbonate more significant in a gold bearing area? Thanks!
@911mining5 жыл бұрын
Yes there is a visible difference, they also tend to break different very different carbonate minerals are not as hard as quartz, quartz carbonate is more "chalky". Its also generally forms closer to surface.
@911mining5 жыл бұрын
They both can be gold bearing though.

Why don't you guys use ATV's for the kilometres and kilometres of logging roads? Also handy for packing samples as well as access through locked gates and deactivated logging roads?
@911mining5 жыл бұрын
We do on occasion.
@911mining5 жыл бұрын
We find you tend to miss things though if we are scouring logging roads walking is best. If we have to travel somewhere a quad can get to but not a vehicle that's when we would

@mikemalo63365 жыл бұрын
Is there a camera lens filter that can discriminate for certain color wavelengths that would highlight any specific minerals? Or any lights that would do the same? You often show the chalcopyrite, the iron pyrite, the arsenopyrite and you mention 'free-mill gold' but it is pretty hidden in there. There has to be an easier way to look at a sample and get an idea if it's worth it. (Hey, some great inventions/processes have been found by lazy people who thought 'there's got to be an easier way).
@911mining5 жыл бұрын
Yes it's really hard showing sometimes with massive sulfides sometimes the color can be very similar or the same when seen on camera, free mill good is always so fine. Wish we had a field camera that showed 10x magnification.

High silver values but I see no silver minerals ,how to explain ?
@911mining5 жыл бұрын
Silvers and other elements are usually found as a replacement mineral in most sulfide ore not free milling.
@911mining5 жыл бұрын
Picture baking a cake but with minerals, you have a blender now throw all the elements in and mix it and bake it, you have a mix of elements, that's sort of the easiest was to explain.

How easy is it to get some blasting powder in Canada,eh?
@911mining5 жыл бұрын
Hard to do blasting yourself. Also need permits and to be liscenced/certified.
@MrPeabody675 жыл бұрын
Getting a blasting ticket is simple enough. The code around blasting leads to costly mitigation of risk, though. Costs are high enough to discourage small outfits from having their own equipment and technicians for blasting. The logging and security measures are a headache, too.

admit it... you just got sick of editing your faces out huh? :P Man you pretty much need a pressure washer in there to clean all those rocks so you can get a clear look at what's there.. That stuff that crumbles in your hand doesn't make me trust it at all.. or that collapse where those huge timbers were.. scary stuff. Some of those grey shiny samples make me wonder what they'd look like if you slabbed them with a saw and fully polished them.. I'm sure they'd look amazing.
@911mining5 жыл бұрын
Its fairly safe overhead other than at the back of the adit.
@RichardRoger19665 жыл бұрын
Have you heard they found a fungus which turns gold dust into larger pieces. And the extrapolation was this is how nuggets were formed, especially the largest ones. So perhaps this "fungus" you found in the mine wasn't a bad thing...?
