I know this is an old video, but just came here to say I've had one of these in my wallet for a couple years and it's seriously saved my ass more than once. Not the most amazing set ever but for a kit I ALWAYS have on me, it's certainly better than nothing. Put a piece of tape on the back of it to stick the tools back in :)

Ah, I've had this in my wallet for a few months. Love it so far, glad to always have a set with me when I inevitably lose my house keys or get locked out of my car. Seem's really solid (thicker metal) compared to some of the other card sized pick set's I've gotten.

I bought one because I locked myself out of my car and had to break a window to get in. The cops would not open it and a locksmith cost too much. Now I have this in my wallet. Oh yeah, the window on my car that I broke to get in was no longer being made. True story.

I bought the same card on wish. One thing I didn't like about it, it did not fit in my EDC tin as a card. Two it took a bit of effort to disassemble from the card, warped the hook and tension a little bit. Otherwise it seems sturdy enough. I was a bit skeptical of the 1/2 of a handcuff key. I haven't actually used them yet, they just sit in emergency EDC tin. My every day go to would be the lockpick Jack knife or my Southord kit. Thanks for the video, ciao.

dont know if you care but they aren't welded its the tabs from where the laser that cut them out stopped and started and left the tabs there so they wont fall out or move around while being cut out

Just some thoughts on an old video here. Maybe you could use the spade cutout on the card to knock down some of the sharp edges. Also it would be nice if the tools locked together at the handle end so you could gain some extra support if needed. Definitely not an everyday necessity but a plausible throw it in the kit and forget about it unless you need it item.

The only way to practice with this unique set is to break it open, thereby ruining the card concept. Don't have any use for a dull knife thing. jiggler for car locks they don't make anymore, a handcuff key that would be in a pocket inside my wallet inside my pants pocket and i would need to get to it, then i would need to break it off, then build some kind of extension because it would be extremely difficult to reach and there is no pin to undo a lot of double locking mechanism, a comb pick that works on like no locks, all of that wasted space with knives and spades... could of had a longer pick set and a z shaped tension bar with different sized ends...

first thing I do on ANY mobile site is set the browser to desktop mode. mobile websites are all pretty flawed.
@glenwoofit8 жыл бұрын
+Shawn Jones If a site is designed popley it will display correctly. I don't design websites myself but my friend does and I know this is something he works hard to make sure both platforms display correctly. I only change to desktop view if the site doesn't work correctly on mobile view but mobile view is my preferred view on a mobile phone. most of my Internet activities is on a mobile device.
@fastnoc8 жыл бұрын
The site works fine in mobile mode. it uses bootstrap, the industry standard. but your point is good. there's a donate link wayyyyyy down on the very bottom of the page, but it doesn't really help. So i added a new button on the main menu. there are two items below, so hover over the donate button and there's a link to the PayPal donate and a link to the Patreon donate. Good suggestion! lock-lab.com/
@ShawnJonesHellion8 жыл бұрын
John Thompson "the industry standard" and the moblie industry is technology retarded and its software is worlds apart from the actual tech world of PC land. Samsung and Apple, the leaders, just selling non existant 'upgrades' to scam everyone. Google offering probably the worst operating system ive ever been on. Then the fact the mobile sites almost all force you to use a.mobile page and not a desktop page. I mean the list goes on and on here. Mobile is like little tyke of computing. Its not even often the page designers fault I bet cause google screwed everything up.
@david_davinci8 жыл бұрын
I actually find most mobile sites work just fine, including Lock-Lab. There are 2 choices for donate. One at the very bottom of the home page and there is an option on the menu button. Both these take you to the donate page, which also works fine on my device (Note 5). Maybe it depends on your device?

A great review. I'd wondered if this was a gimmick item but it seems to have some practical value. I think the configuration could be improved though. For my design I'd remove the handcuff key, comb pick and wafer pick. They are luxury items whose function can be replaced by the hook and triple peak. I'd probably remove the auto rocker too. Whilst it may give you access to a car chanches are very very slim that you will be able to drive it. I'd rather just smash the window for the contents. Having got rid of those items I would use the space for a mini jim. I've used a similar item (shove knife) as a firefighter for over 20 years and they are incredible. I've used them for entry and egress more times than I could ever count, often when picking locks would not have been an option. I carry a leatherman tool, torch and tuxedo kit (with a mini jim in there too) off duty wherever I go. Utilities fail or leak, fire doors get illegally locked, public transport incidents occur, lifts break down, emergency equipment (AEDs, fire hose reels, fire panels/EWIS) are sometimes in locked cabinets, people get locked in buildings out of hours. I've seen it happen. The ability to see your way, break a window and open a lock can make a big difference to the outcome of an event. If circumstances look like you may be releived of your possesions the card (or a well packed tuxedo set) is thin enough to slide under your foot in your shoe. I don't expect to be searched to that extreme in most circumstances (legally or illegally) and I consider the benefit outweighs the risk.
